what article are you all referring to? I see nothing in the Billboard Warner announcement that implies Adam went to MM empty handed. From the article: "How did you, Max and Shellback reconnect? Lambert: I was working on demos and scheduled a meeting with them. They're two of my favorite producers and at the very top of their game. I love everything they do, and was really excited to sit back down with them after having worked on For Your Entertainment. It was great to reminisce and laugh. It was an easy, humble, casual vibe, and when you're in the studio, that's what you want. I played them a song and we got very excited. They heard my personal growth, and lyrically, the things that I was trying to say. Long story short, they offered me a deal to be executive producers of this album, and that felt like a big moment." Did I miss something? Graciejane, you're right. It's in the other Billboard article Q3 linked to above, sorry I didn't have the link. The one with the CEO. I take from this that it was essentially a blank slate they started with, no leftover tracks (I hope) from Britney, Pink et al. "How much of the album was done when you first met and where is it at now? He came in with no music. We've made the record together and it's 90 percent finished now. The plan is to launch singles in the spring and the album in early summer." And he did say SINGLES. Ahhh, Two different perspectives, but it actually makes sense, he likely would not have had a lot to show WB immediately after the RCA split, but had talking point material by the time he met with MM&SB. Does sound like the album is totally from scratch though, no tracks written for others!!!!! Eagerly awaiting the release!!

Hope that Adam doesn't have to do the radio shuck & jive this time around when PDs don't play him. What surprised me about that Max Martin Billboard article was the comment that Adam came to the collaboration with "no music." But maybe they stated that in order to emphasize MM's fingerprints all over the album.
I think it made sense. If I'm not mistaken the chronology was like this:
March 22, 2013: End of The We Are Family Tour in Helsinki and he's back in the US.
April - June 2013: Adam was ready to write new music for A3, meeting and conversation with RCA went nowhere.
July 08, 2013: THR article i.e. All 80's album cover.
July 12, 2013: THR article i.e. Adam parts ways with RCA.
Within 24hrs after the parts ways announcement, he got a call from Warner Music and Adam reached out to Max Martin. So I think it's possible that he didn't have music when he came to the collaborations. He may have ideas what he wants to make, but he didn't have material at that time. Adam parted with RCA in April though. It was made public in July.

I do not believe that this board represents the average Adam fanbase. I also think that this board here will be supportive no matter what Adam puts out, and therefore it does not strategically matter for Adam, what this board thinks. This group is money in the bank for him, and I am quite fine with that, btw. It's called unconditional support, and I ( and my DH, bless his heart) have resigned myself (ourselves) to the fact that I will continue to buy T-shirts I don't need or want, and more albums than I actually can listen to for the rest of my life, for the very simple reason that they have not yet developed the direct deposit into bank account function on the adamofficial website, which at this point, really is an oversight on their part. Adam needs to put out music for the expanding fanbase he is hoping to attract beyond the existing one. He needs to put out music that fulfills his ambitions and visions as an artist, and stays both true to himself as well as marketable. Yes, a direct deposit to Adam's bank account would be so much easier (and I could avoid those very large mailing charges!). Seriously, he has entertained me so much over the last six years, I would happily do this. He needs his own paid subscription service!

Bamafan seemed to know this woman from twitter. Does anyone know if she is a big fan who has been to lots of shows? I was just wondering if Adam recognized her and if that is why he kissed her.

I know we have discussed this before and I have never interpreted this as Max came before WBR. IMO, the wording proves just the opposite. WBR talked to DMG, then (in the quote) the MM partnership started to form. Not vice versa.

Does sound like the album is totally from scratch though, no tracks written for others!!!!! Eagerly awaiting the release!! There is no info that says Adam talked to WBR right after the RCA split -- his management talked to WBR. Adam talked to Max and Shellback. He probably would not have met with WBR until much later in 2013 -- October or November. DMG would have done all the initial meetings. **** The more important parts are 1. SINGLES!! and 2. All the material is ADAM's. That means no left over, retread demos rejected by other artists from other albums. Nothing like BTIKM and NCOE!! [And while WWFM was written for Pink's album, it is one of those rare tracks that an artist rejected for personal reasons not a demo that was rejected by the label/producer/artist because it was not quite good enough.] And no songs in the wrong key that were written for Britney Spears. Hopefully, this album will be what it appears to be -- something created for and by Adam -- start to finish. I am very hopeful.

I know we have discussed this before and I have never interpreted this as Max came before WBR. IMO, the wording proves just the opposite. WBR talked to DMG, then (in the quote) the MM partnership started to form. Not vice versa. The two relationship discussions must overlap. I believe the sequence is..... End of April 2013 -- Adam and RCA agree to split. I have been unable to find out the actual separation day but I think it may be mid-June 2013. It would take some time to do the legal stuff. July 13, 2013 -- Adam announces he and RCA split. July 14, 2013 -- WBR contacts DMG about Adam. They have a relationship with DMG and they would not contact Adam directly. if they did contact Adam, he would refer them to his management. Sometime in Summer 2013 -- Adam meets with Max Martin and Shellback. They want to be EP for his album. (I think DMG probably is heavily involved in this. They have a deep relationship with Max Martin. Adam did not just call up Max.) September - October, 2013 -- DMG lays the groundwork for a deal -- with Adam + Max and Shellback on board as producers. I am guessing this but it would make Adam's contract worth a ton more and that is DMG's way of working. November 12, 2013 -- Adam says, “I’m the studio, I’m working. I’m talking to a couple of labels, big producers. Things are turning.” A couple of labels would be Warner and UMG. Because Sony was not on his list. I think the "big producers" = Max + Shellback. The deal -- Adam + Max and Shellback + WBR had to have been signed late in 2013 or very early in 2014. Probably when Adam was in NYC. February-March, 2014 -- Adam was in Sweden for his album writing camp. March 20, 2014 -- Billboard story about writing camp and the new album. Max Martin revealed but no label revealed. All in all, it is brilliant.

I get that marriage equality is racing forward (with some states' popular "no" votes overturned by courts). Things are changing faster than I expected too. But I'm talking about regular old society (people), not laws. There were plenty of people who remained (and remain) racially prejudiced after laws during the Civil Rights Movement required integration. Our opinions might be shaded by where we live too. I think you both make great points. Things are changing very rapidly but there is a long way to go..... Wow, look at the wording. This isn't even about marriage: it's about having sex. Thanks for posting that.

Has anyone seen a mp3 for the Munich concert? I would love to make a CD of the individual songs. Dancygeorgia...do you have mp3's of the individual songs to the concerts you attended or any of the other ones? Could you PM me information..I have yours that are no broken down into individual song. They are great but I really like to make a separate CD that I can take out some songs (the middle part of the concerts) for a separate CD. Thanks. I have to go pick up my son...BBS. clematis recorded the whole show from start to finish, but she needs tech help .... you could PM her!
