Who Wants To Live Forever".
Beim fulminanten Finale mit "We Will Rock You" und "We Are The Champions" sitzt sogar eine Krone auf seinem Kopf.

Queen impressed with singer Adam Lambert
An American Idol finalist to Freddie Mercury's place? Inclined - but convincing.
I want an honest answer: What do you think of this man "Queen guitarist Brian May on stage at the Wiener Stadthalle and holds the arm of singer Adam Lambert at the height of 10,500 fans trample, scream and yell, show unequivocally that. think they just like May himself: For the band that wrote with her bombastic rock sound and the 1991 late singer Freddie Mercury music history, Lambert was a lucky find.

For the Vienna concert Sunday night, the 33-year-old American, the Queen in 2009 at the finale of the talent show "American Idol" met, as the best singer, have the May and drummer Roger Taylor collaborated with the after Mercury's death showed.
Above all, convinced his magnificent voice, strong, subtle exalted and to the extent the same as that of Freddie. In the town hall Lambert shines so especially in the ballads "Save Me" and "Who Wants To Live Forever". Both he sings almost too beautiful. Mercury was doing more charisma, more character, more excitement. But eventually Lambert is non-runner to replace Freddie, but "to celebrate him and the band" around.
Pictures from the concert
Devotedly
And the Queen do on this tour devotedly - with more than two hours full power and triumphant, memorable melodies. There are the traditional Echoplex solo by May, in which he lays harmonies over their own echo. Okay, the Danube waltz falls here today bumpy. But no matter, May was injured, still suffering from a chill. Perhaps this is why he initially a bit unfocused worked, not with so much feeling as otherwise solos.
But band and the audience increased from song to song. Or better: Hit to hit. "Love Of My Life" acoustically in the middle part - recorded with Freddie in image and sound - made for the first mass choir. A drum duel between Roger Taylor and his son Rufus Tiger was cheered, because it so clearly showed the class of this musician.
And now wummert the striking Bassriff of "Under Pressure" through the hall. Finally, it also tears people in the stands of the seats. Thanks Lambert Queen can in fact now this pompous, playing in the higher pitch songs. The missing on tours with Paul Rodgers, because this hearty, sober blues singer had not brought across well.
Glamour
This is the second major advantage of Lambert: The open-ended his homosexuality singer brings his appearance in what was going on in painful Rodgers - glamor, wit, a twinkle in his eye pompous posturing. In "Killer Queen" he tagged on a purple sofa Diva, sometimes he wears a gold-fringed jacket, sometimes a red plaid pants.
In the brilliant finale with "We Will Rock You" and "We Are The Champions" even sits a crown on his head. All in all, a reaction which not only suits this lush, anthemic rock sound - he even demands.
Sure Brian May has asked not random, as Lambert arrives at the fans. For that is essential for the future of this incomparable band: If it has one, then only with him.

„If you sing along, something magic will happen“, versprach May an anderer Stelle, vor dem vor Kitsch triefenden „Love Of My Life“. Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?“
Dieses Meisterwerk des Rock-Rokoko (also der Mittsiebziger) hat seinen silbrigen Glanz nicht verloren, im Gegensatz zu Songs wie „Who Wants To Live Forever“ oder „I Want It All“, die nicht nur manieriert, sondern auch mariniert (wenig Essig, viel Öl) klingen. Und was soll man zu „We Are The Champions“ sagen?
„We Will Rock You“ in der Wiener Stadthalle (HalleF): noch bis 21.Februar.

Adam Lambert takes over the role 23 years after Freddie Mercury's death. Glamour and vote for it he has.
02.02.2015 | 18:20 | By Thomas Kramar (The Press)
A "Magical History Tour" is currently placarded - as "authentic journey back in time," nor to "two persons live on stage who have actually experienced the Roaring Sixties along with the Beatles", namely Paul McCartney's half-sister and their mother ...
You can smile or sigh about it: During Pop is always blissful past, is flourishing genre that began with the profession Elvis Presley impersonator. A prophecy is risky: In ten years Revival bands will occur at each rock festival, and the audience is routinely measure the living replicants submitted to the dead via video. Strange intermediate forms occur when famous bands just the star / singer has already died. So led Doors organist Ray Manzarek until his own death under names such as "Doors Of The 21st Century" diverse Jim Morrison impersonators ago.
Brian May and Roger Taylor also had after Freddie Mercury's death (1991) do not feel like Queen shelved to basket: You wrote a musical ("We Will Rock You"), which is currently listed again in Vienna; and they tried it with new singers. First, with the totally unglamorous blues rocker Paul Rodgers, an obvious miscast: "Queen without Freddie Mercury, that is - of course seen only aesthetically - as the FPÖ without Jörg Haider," wrote "The Press" in 2005, "no champagne, only Altbier".
This can be by Adam Lambert, a 33-year-old graduate of the American "Star Mania" -Pendants "American Idol," do not say: He takes from you, that he, like's, "Killer Queen" is, in his "pretty cabinet 'sparkling wine the brand Moët & Chandon has stock. This probably most elaborate Queen song he lolled so coquettishly on a red-golden couch that you have to give Brian May right, who said in an interview about Lambert: "He is tuntig in a natural way and extravagant in his behavior. "The fact that he sometimes exaggerates's - the studded leather jacket with studs example, did already hurt in his eyes - is part of the role of image that Freddie Mercury did. Again, this was so fond of adding modestly with crown and ermine cloak.
Solos must be!
From the vocal range in any case Adam Lambert's model has grown quite possible that the timbre is not entirely true, especially in the deeper layers rather reminiscent of Ian Gillan of Deep Purple, even the strictest Queen fans forgave him in the audience, and who would be more stringent than the? Instrumental However bothered quite a bit: "Another One Bites The Dust" was demoted lack Groove bass line to the Hard Rock Masher, and several more agile songs you had the feeling that Brian May rather of anticipation thinking of his next solo, as the rhythmic structure to look for.
For solos must be in Queen, that is clear. May led proudly in front of his braided Effects and how it almost is a must for Pop on visit to Vienna, the motif of a Danube Waltz. As once in the seventies it put even a bass solo (behave pleasantly Neil Fairclough), and Roger Taylor wore with his son Rufus a "Drum Battle" from. It was happy for him, all measures tones, and but a few were: touching it, as the old, gray, almost deaf percussionist with the pale colored tattooed upper arms at "A Kind Of Magic" the first voice took over was.
Video revenant Freddie Mercury
"If you sing along, something magic will happen", May promised elsewhere, before dripping with Kitsch "Love Of My Life". Sure, what was to come there and came Freddie Mercury in the video. Also in the "Bohemian Rhapsody" sang the living alternately with the dead, to match the text: "Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? "
This masterpiece of rock Rococo (ie the mid-seventies) has not lost its silvery sheen, as opposed to songs like "Who Wants To Live Forever" or "I Want It All", which not only mannered, but also marinated (little vinegar, much oil) sound. And what can you say to "We Are The Champions"? That a party better leave when someone hangs up this hymn of all dubious associations? It's no use. In a time when everyone is talking about dystopias, we also have a: Still in 50 years we will hear this song as an encore, then right held by a revival band.
"We Will Rock You" at the Vienna City Hall (Hallef): until 21 February.
