Jumping in with how much i loved the BTS video too! Their sense of humor is just priceless. I do wish I knew what the guy actually does, though, that sits next to the drums! LOL!! He is there in case anything breaks on the drum kit during the concert. He also is watching for anything that might be happening that would cause a failure. If snything were to go wrong he would spring into action and get it quickly fixed. A little descriptive article. getinmedia.com/careers/drum-tech

I see him just sit there staring at every move Roger does with the drum sticks!lol I keep thinking surely Roger could keep spare sticks right there with his drum set and could grab one if needed without probably missing a beat. I always think how weird it looks seeing the guy there when I can take my eyes off Adam for a second. I wonder if Roger has always had a guy up there doing that? I don't recall seeing anyone on old Queen videos.

Bahaha, that BTS video is sooo funny! I was ROFL about the guys with the chaise longue and wondered how they managed to keep a straight face while talking about their very responsible full-time job, lol!!!

I don't recall seeing anyone on old Queen videos. Roger has had a drum tech since 1976 -- Chris 'Crystal' Taylor was the first dedicated tech. But I do not recall seeing anyone crouched next to the drums during the concert in the 1970's and early 1980's.
