I think I understand. Mainstream and rhythmic are considered "subcategories" of CHR. My confusion was over the fact that there is a Top 40 AND a Rhythmic chart. I my mind, if there are 2 charts, there should be 2 dates. Maybe it would help to not think so much about the charts but the format focus of the individual stations. Each station, even though they all might belong to the same holding company tailor their playlists to their individual market. For example Z100 out of New York plays a very different setlist than KIIS out of Los Angeles. I don't have an issue figuring out the difference between the two types of music, I'm more interested in where the spins get recorded and what the add date is for mainstream. I'm assuming it's the same date? I guess we'll see. Z100 is a mainstream station with rhythmic leanings and it's spins are not recorded as rhythmic. My original question is about add dates. On a side note.. I just spent a week painting my house and cringed at the Rhythmic music on Z100, had to switch to KIIS. Z100 ' s drive time Playlist is more mainstream than during the day. San Francisco has good Top 40 station too.

So even when they play the same songs, they play them at different frequencies. A few examples: #1 on Z100 Ellie Goulding "Love Me Like You Do"; it is #2 on KIIS LA #1 on KIIS LA Weeknd "Earned It"; it is #6 on Z100 #8 on both stations LA Natalie La Rose / Jeremih "Somebody" #5 on Z100 Vance Joy "Riptide"/not on KIIS LA playlist #17 on KIIS LA Ed Sheeran "Thinking Out Loud"/#7 on Z100.

That "somebody" song (and The Weeknd song, to some extent) makes me want to slit my wrists. Lol ETA: maybe I forgave KIIS for the Rhythmic leanings because of the sigalert reports. Made me a little home sick for LA.

HMMMM, rather than being set in a ghost town, what old movie sets/studios are hanging around the LA area? That would go more in theme with what we know about the song and with the pictures posted above. Old Hollywood.

Wonder why they did not give it an April 28th mainstream release date? For example the Alyxx Dione f/Jason Derulo song is on both lists. Assuming that FMBQ has the total info -- and they are not always complete or right -- but they are clearly going to MTop 40. We have not seen anything from a Rhymic station but a lot from MTop 40/CHR and HAC stations. So I have no doubt they are pushing this to MTop 40. I agree that is where the focus has been, which is why I was surprised to not see it on the Mainstream list.

Perhaps they are hiding the add date in the same place they are hiding the song snippet.
