In case this was missed
Barnes & Noble book signing in NewYork
i think I read one must purchase a cd from the store for this signing
so I ordered last night. They also said you can show your receipt of purchase from B&N
so double check this info for those who are thinking of going.... Of course costs more but worth the price of admission!!

Since i really don't know to much about bad singing Problems, can some of you that know about that stuff please tell me that Adam has a good enough technical skill, that what happens now with Sam SMith will NEVER happen with him.
It won't, right?
And no, i am really not that interessted if Sam Smith will have these problemes for the rest of his career, but a dear friend of mine is Superfan of him and Sheeran and she told me it is the third time in a year that he lost his voice. That IS a lot for a Person not quite middle 20s, isn't it?
So please just tell me ADAM will not have These Kind of Problems, entiteld and worried fan here. ![HaHaSmiliey](http://i770.photobucket.com/albums/xx348/Quu3/Adam%20Smilys/Other%20Smileys/haha.gif) Late to answer, but I don't see anyone explaining it. Is it impossible for Adam to experience such an injury? No. But it is unlikely. A hemorrhage is caused by overuse or improper use of the voice: Screaming, straining, pushing your voice to hit notes, pushing your voice when you have a cold or other congestion, singing with improper technique. It is somewhat similar to straining a muscle. Small blood vessels within the cord or fold burst and the tissues around it fill with blood. The cords may then swell and become inflamed. This alters the ability to sing and talk normally. Think of it like a bruise to the cords. There is no damage to the surface, but to the blood vessels beneath the surface. If you repeatedly do whatever it was that caused the blood vessels to burst in the first place, they will continue to bleed and will not heal. Hence, the prescribed treatment is most commonly to stop using the vocal cords completely until the vessels are totally healed over and strong. This is not an injury you can tough your way thru. If you keep trying to use your voice, you will cause more and more damage, which can cause scarring, which, in turn, changes the way the cords function and vibrate, changing the quality of the voice. Adam sings big and loud and high. It would seem that he would be prone to such injury. Except for three things. First, and foremost, Adam uses exemplary technique when he is singing. ALL THE TIME. Good technique is not just about making it "sound good", or sound classical. Classical technique has been developed over centuries when there were no microphones and sound systems. Singers needed to be able to sing with power and be heard above a full orchestra without damaging their voices. "Proper" technique is not some snobbish , elitist concept. It is techniques that bring out the most in the voice in terms of tone, range, flexibility, sustainability and health. The second reason Adam is unlikely to injure his voice is how Adam uses his voice. He is a natural high tenor. Singing high is a desirable style for male pop and rock singers. But many don't have the physiology to do it. In order to sing high notes, they have to strain their cords in unhealthy ways. Adam also has a body that has a lot of built in resonance he can use for not only tone, but power and volume. Like a high end sound system, Adam can turn up the volume without blowing out the speakers. Finally, Adam knows how to take care of his voice and makes doing so a priority in his daily life. He is not obsessive, but he is very much aware of proper care all the time, not just while performing. For example, when we hear him dodging certain glory notes, pitching a song or phrase down the octave, or singing a phrase lightly rather than with his usual power, he is doing it for health purposes. Adam has enough technique and musical acumen, that he knows how to modify a performance to fit his current vocal health, rather than pushing and causing damage. He also knows when to rest his voice, even if it means disappointing fans, of forgoing social opportunities. As long as Adam continues to use good technique, sing the way his body naturally wants to sing, and take care of his instrument, he has a very good chance of avoiding vocal injury.

Just catching up on threads... Not to reignite the whole discussion from yesterday specific to top 40 M&G - however I'll just say that perception doesn't happen in a vacuum - something someone does or says creates it. Top 40 radio stations count on the perception that they appeal to a younger demographic - it's how they make their money. If they don't think Adam helps that perception they will avoid him and his music. We all spend a lot of time talking about things we can do to help him be successful. It seems that it's also worth some thinking about things they should stop doing. Call it ageism, call it unfair, call it whatever. I prefer to call it the brutal facts of reality. This is a general note and not about any one person and as always #YMMV #scrollisyourfriend (Q3 happy to have this edited / deleted if out of place.) I am not deleting this nor am trying to restart this whole conversation but I have a question and a comment: I read in yesterday's thread that Shoshanna tweeted and then deleted a tweet about fan demographics. Where is this tweet? I did not see it. Is it from yesterday? Nor could I find it. *** The radio stations did not screen the "winners" so no reason to blame them for anything. No one from any US radio station has said anything negative about "Glamberts". *** I understand the ire about a fan from LA attending 3 San Francisco radio M&Gs for stations she does not listen to, in a market where she does not live. IMO this is wrong. It would be wrong if she was 18 or 25 or 68. IMO it is wrong. I think Adam took care of this. I hope fans get a clue. IF YOU DO NOT LISTEN TO A STATION, DO NOT ENTER THEIR M&G CONTEST. Leave these for the radio station's listeners. *** To the claim that older fans attending M&G are hurting Adam -- I do not agree. No one but fans even look at this stuff -- look at the view counts on the videos.

Hi Q3--I'm the one that brought up Shoshanna's tweet. It was from two or three weeks ago. I don't know if she deleted. I didn't have time to go back through all her tweets since then to find it. Hopefully, someone else saw it or saved it. I just thought since Adam's team addressed the issue, it was important to them and worth bringing up.
