I'm going! I'll be there from Friday afternoon thru Sunday morning ... looking for dinner companions both Friday and Saturday evenings! Yay! Same here! I will stay in Santa Barbara Thursday night and head down to the Long Beach area Friday around noon. Would love to be a dinner companion. Are you staying in Long Beach? I still need to make reservations. My daughter will likely be there too but I think she has separate plans with a group of friends. How do we exchange contact info? I am fairly new to this forum so I guess I will try the members thread. I don't think we have a meet-up thread in Members Only yet, so I'll send you a private message with my contact info in a few minutes. Look at the top of the screen and you should see a little "1" above the word "messages" in the heading when I send it. Click on "Messages" to read it.

I am quoting Rihannsu because ITA with her post. Getting Adam on UK radio is not Shoshanna's job. **** May I also add, what is the big focus on the UK? I understand UK fans want Adam to perform there and would like to hear Adam on the radio, but beyond that, who really cares? No one in the the entire rest of the world pays any attention to UK radio charts any more because it is not a leading market anymore. (It was in the 1960-1980's.) Why would anyone living outside of the UK care? Why the focus on the UK when Japan is so much bigger? (It is not a rhetorical question, I am really interested cause I do not understand.) Germany looks good, Japan is still pretty much off the radar for TOH. 2014 music revenues by country. US is $4.9 billion Japan $2.6 billion Germany $1.4 billion U.K. $1.3 billion France $843 million Australia $376 million Canada $342 million South Korea $266 million Brazil $247 million Hmmmm, why do we care about the UK? I think because we were told for years that in order for him to make it big he had to make it in the UK?? Told by who? Well really I thought it was by yourself Q3 but if it wasn't you then it was by others who I thought knew what they were saying. And there's the, he's so like what UK would want from their homegrown artists, so it seems natural that they would want to play him. I hadn't got the memo yet that the UK wasn't a big deal. Thanks for the list but of those markets I really don't see GT making a big impact in any of the top markets Japan, Germany, UK, or France which leaves Australia which could explain his visit then. However Shazam says interest is picking up in Germany and especially Brazil where it has been consistently moving up the Shazam charts (now #9 in Brazil) for a month and a half. I think GT has been selling pretty well in Germany based on iTunes chart positions. Having said that, I share your befuddlement regarding the sudden demotion of the UK music market, I didn't get that particular memo either. The fact is that GT hasn't broken through here in the UK despite the investment of significant resources and effort. It's not the end of the world of course but neither is it a mere detail - it's a set-back. Also, it shouldn't have come as a surprise to anyone, the signs were there months ago.

Maybe the interest in the UK charts is because other UK based pop successes (SS and ES) do well there and feeling is for Adam to be considered legitimate global success he needs to chart well in UK???

He needs to be successful in all the major markets, and many countries follow what the UK does. I think the promo was too soon, considering the drop date for the single. I find the UK market and radio befuddling. This is the third time he has tried, and you would think on home turf, Shoshonna could twist a few more arms and gotten his face and music shown on more tv shows. Look at how Voice AU helped.
Beating a dead horse, but I find it quite sad that he didn't make it. SS and Ed Sheeran drive me nuts with their voices. They are huge. I unfortunately do not see the attraction, but that is me.

A hit here was clearly a priority for Adam and his team - that makes sense given that the UK market is one of the big 4 and, moreover, tends to punch above it's weight in terms of influence. Also, the chances must have looked particularly good following Adam's QAL exposure.
