"warnerbrospromo: wish you were ALL here!!!"
We were, we were! That Periscope from the side of the stage was so much fun!
As I mentioned earlier, I'm hoping so hard that "The Light" and "Evil in the Night" will one day be singles. But I also love "Another Lonely Night." I think it will do really well on radio in the States. I'm hoping for top 10 on HAC. And top 16 or better on the pop chart. Would be great if it could somehow reach top 40 on Hot 100, too.
I think "The Original High" is pretty much a given for release this summer. I'm guessing that it'd be sent to radio in late April, maybe May.
Maybe "The Light" would make a nice follow-up single to TOH. It has a fall feel. (It also feels to me like a spring kind of song, and would be a beautiful way to close out the era in 2017, after EITN.) I do think that EITN is more of a fall/winter song. Like I've said before, I think EITN is a surefire hit.
I remember in an interview at the beginning of the album cycle that Adam referred to EITN as reminiscent of some of his other older material, or a sound that fans are used to hearing from him. And the album as a whole has a different sound that he wants to explore. But the thing is, the general public has never really heard that funk EITN sound from him because that sound hasn't been reflected in his radio singles. It would be fresh from him for them.
I think the song would give this era a real boost and a shot in the arm, energy-wise. And there is a
reason many fans like that sound from Adam. I think he should give radio listeners a chance to realize why and experience it, too. If he thinks it's a sound that existing fans love and gravitate toward (I think he said that consideration influenced his decision to include the last two bonus tracks), why wouldn't the people that he wants to
become fans also love that sound from him?
And I think it would be cool if they could do something with "Things I Didn't Say" (it's one of my favorites and seems so suited for radio) but that's probably asking too much.
The only thing that would truly disappoint me is if "Underground" became a single.
I wonder if anything's to become of "Rumors" anymore?
