Well I guess 10pm is early for the writer and he/she didn't think that these teens and parents have been there since afternoon and have to drive home which probably takes another hour. Which's probably already past their bed time. My 2cents - vocally he always delivers, NEVER have known anyone else so consistently stellar. He does sometimes surprise me though with not being what I would call audience aware. Tonight's crowd was full of tweens and teens, the F-bomb and weed references were likely not appreciated by a lot of parents...maybe that is why the exodus mid-set. just a thought. Sigh.. but I have to agree with you. But then again these tweens and teens probably have heard worst.

Although the venue was sold out, many people left as soon as Shawn Mendes finished and before Adam came on. Can't blame them. They had probably been there since 4 and it was a school night. Kids and parents were no doubt tired and hungry!!! Of course, Adam was the best (Not biased much!!!), just too bad everyone in that packed venue couldn't have heard his performance.
Kudos go out to all of you who take pics. I had my camera and completely forgot to take pictures until after the show.Appreciate your re-cap...glad you had a good visual of Adam's performance. Truly!! I mean it. You got to move up! However, with that came the price Adam paid. (Not nice to know people leave when you are coming on. And, the loss of ears that may have perked up due to his talent.) I was hoping an exodus of young people would not happen. Initially I was happy thinking that Adam was going to be in the middle of such a long concert with so many artists. or near the end, but not the closer. When I saw the post for the performance times yesterday, I posted my concern re people leaving if he was closing the night out. Darn... hate to know it happened. How much is many...half the audience , a quarter???? Just my curiosity. But.. but.. some of his fans wanted him to close the show ..

It's always confusing reading audience reaction reports, it reminds me of the six (was it 7?) blind men describing the elephant story.
That reviewer's Adam blurb, though. Leaving after Shawn - that's one thing. But leaving "mid-set"?

Tonight's crowd was full of tweens and teens, the F-bomb and weed references were likely not appreciated by a lot of parents...maybe that is why the exodus mid-set. just a thought. The exodus was to get out of the parking lots and get home. Many people had a long drive. There were a lot of young kids in the audience -- I had 4 boys under 12 next to me. They (and their mom) left around 8:30 and the seats were filled with older fans. About 10% of the seats near me were empty for Shawn Mendes. The teens near me did not seem very surprised when he said mother fuckers. Nothing they have not heard before. ETA: There were two flat part of the set IMO -- EITN did not connect with the non-fans in the audience, and the super reggae version of IIHY he performed tonight is a miss. Lucy also was a bit too "rock" for the 12- 16 year old girls near me.
