I'm looking forward to the audience participation with I've only seen the movie once in the theatre and really didn't know what exactly to expect and couldn't play along. Felt like such a dork! It is so much fun! We need to make a concise participation guide before the movie airs so we can all be ready. There are a lot of variations but if we narrowed it down to the most common, we could imagine each other acting together. It would be great! It would be a really "meta" situation if this played in a movie theater with audience participation!

That Superbowl poll is pointless unfortunately. I Don't think it matters Britney lipsyncs. IT is not about who is the most talented, or has the best voice. They get popstars who well target the demo and target audience they are searching for. I Think its 18-45, and Females. Could be wrong their. So it is all about money. HOw many seats they can fill, and ppv buys. Britney is huge, so that would be no surprise. Queen have huge hits. And you would think be perfect for SB, and it is amazing they have never done SB. And be big for Adam. But they just don't fall in the target demo SB are looking for. ITA it is all about the money and online polls do not matter. The Superbowl halftime show is designed to target women 18-49 years old. "Filling seats" and PPV $ are not considerations. The vast majority of Superbowl revenue comes from US TV advertising. They are very unlikely to pick any classic rock act -- but if they did, it would not be Queen. **** I am a mega Queen fan, but I am realistic. While I think Q+AL could do a great halftime show, I recognize that they are not famous enough here, they are the wrong genre (classic rock) and don't reach the right demo. Queen does not have "huge" hits in the US. They only have two #1 songs in the US -- and both are not typical Queen songs -- and neither was a "huge" multi-platinum hit. Neo-Rockabilly -- CLTCL was #1 in the US and is Gold. 1979 Disco-Funk -- AOBTD was #1 in the US and is Platinum but that was in 1980, 36 years ago. Most Americans under 55 aren't familiar with Queen although they know WWRY, WATC and (thanks to Wayne's World) many people here know BoRhap. It is very easy to think about Queen's global popularity and think that it extends to the US, but it does not. They never moved from arenas to stadiums here. And the last Queen (no +) arena tour (1982) was only a modest success.

Q3, Thanks for posting the information re the likelihood of Queen and Adam Lambert not being selected for the Super Bowl any time soon. I distinctly remember the NFL announcing that it WOULD NOT BE SIGNING ANY MORE CLASSIC ROCK ACTS, and instead they were going to target current popular American pop stars for the Super Bowl. I know it is for the reasons you gave in your post.
I posted this several times when I saw discussion on here regarding Queen and the Super Bowl, yet people seem to ignore this announcement from the NFL as if it never happened, and say, "Yes, but in the past they hired The Who, etc.," as indication that there is hope for another classic rock act, and everyone should keep voting and writing, etc. Certainly everyone can do as he or she wishes in regard to this, but the chances really are slim of such an event occurring.
No one would like a classic rock act like Queen in the Super Bowl more that I would, either. I would love it.

It is so much fun! We need to make a concise participation guide before the movie airs so we can all be ready. There are a lot of variations but if we narrowed it down to the most common, we could imagine each other acting together. It would be great! I think the participation parts will be indicated in the new production -- but there are many guides. For starters, it is "important" to know how to do the Time Warp. Here is a prop list for people who want to get involved: www.rockyhorror.com/participation/proplist.phpHere is a good RHPS link collection with both Guides for RHPS Virgins and Time Warp instructions: www.rockyhorror.com/participation/There are different conventions in the US, Canada, UK and other countries. There are also specific localizations in a few places. Not surprisingly LA has some localizations but so do many other places. For example, in Cleveland at the Cedar-Lee theater, RHPS has been playing for 29 years and has a floor show performed by a local cast called SIMPLY HIS SERVANTS, and there are local, theater-specific participation parts. They are related to the film taking place in Ohio. According to a newspaper article, "the author originally wrote the play to take place in "the fictional town of Denton, Ohio" -- and when they made the film, set designer Brian Thomson chose The Plain Dealer for that reason." Instead of any newspaper, it is important to have a Cleveland Plain Dealer (newspaper) prop to mimic Janet who is reading a copy of The Plain Dealer as she and Brad drive in the rain. Then covering your head with it when Janet uses the paper to cover her head. Another local participation spot is the Ohio map. In the film, there is a map that shows Brad and Janet's trip to the castle is of southeastern Ohio. I have only seen or heard of this prop use here.

IF their is a classic Rock Act it won't be Queen. They never had many #1 hits. The Who were bigger in the States then Queen. Only Hope, is if Adam suddenly blows up as a pop star with his next Album. Get's several Number one hits on the Billboard Hot 100. Then maybe his combo with Queen could intice them. But that is a really long shot.
