Q3, Thanks for posting the information re the likelihood of Queen and Adam Lambert not being selected for the Super Bowl any time soon. I distinctly remember the NFL announcing that it WOULD NOT BE SIGNING ANY MORE CLASSIC ROCK ACTS, and instead they were going to target current popular American pop stars for the Super Bowl. I know it is for the reasons you gave in your post.
I posted this several times when I saw discussion on here regarding Queen and the Super Bowl, yet people seem to ignore this announcement from the NFL as if it never happened, and say, "Yes, but in the past they hired The Who, etc.," as indication that there is hope for another classic rock act, and everyone should keep voting and writing, etc. Certainly everyone can do as he or she wishes in regard to this, but the chances really are slim of such an event occurring.
No one would like a classic rock act like Queen in the Super Bowl more that I would, either. I would love it. They have back-to-back ratings success with White Mainstream Pop artist + Urban Artist(s). I doubt they will stray from that. The other factor is the NFL Players Association -- the NFL players are 68.7% African-American and in the extremely unlikely event that the SB selected a classic rock act, they would add in an African American and/or Urban artist. I expect they will select a 2 or 3 artists to appeal to both pop music fans and urban music fans. The recent halftime show have really followed a formula -- big artist with Mainstream Top 40 hits, African American representation. The NFL is very conservative because so much money is at stake -- ad revenue is based on the ratings. 2016 = Coldplay + Beyoncé and Bruno Mars -- very close to the 2015 show ratings. 2015 = Katy Perry + Lenny Kravitz and Missy Elliott -- this SuperBowl had 114.4 million viewers, the most-watched telecast in U.S. TV history. The halftime show got 118.5 million live viewers also the record. 2014 = Red Hot Chili Peppers + Bruno Mars 2013 = Beyoncé featuring Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams 2012 = Madonna + LMFAO, Minaj and M.I.A., Cee Lo Green 2011 = The Black Eyed Peas, Usher, Slash, Fergie feature Rock Acts Dominate2010 = The Who 2009 = Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band 2008 = Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers 2007 = Prince, Florida A&M University Marching 100 Band 2006 = The Rolling Stones 2005 = Paul McCartney Halftime Show Causes Problems -- and shift to "safe" classic rock acts begins2004 = Jessica Simpson, the marching bands the Spirit of Houston from the University of Houston, and the Ocean of Soul of Texas Southern University, Janet Jackson, P. Diddy, Nelly, Kid Rock, Justin Timberlake ETA: My money in on Taylor Swift + an urban artist not Kanye.

IF their is a classic Rock Act it won't be Queen. They never had many #1 hits. The Who were bigger in the States then Queen. Only Hope, is if Adam suddenly blows up as a pop star with his next Album. Get's several Number one hits on the Billboard Hot 100. Then maybe his combo with Queen could intice them. But that is a really long shot. IF Adam has a huge, huge, huge next album, with 8 #1 hits, he might get included in a multi-artist halftime show -- but then there would be no reason to include Queen. I doubt the NFL would take a chance on Adam -- even if he exploded. The AMA performance is always part of his past. The Who are part of the reason why Queen will probably never be booked for a SuperBowl halftime show. Here is Rolling Stone Mags' mini review of that dreary half-time show. U2, Bruce Springsteen and Rolling Stones where both great. Prince was amazing (my favorite SB Halftime). And a strange set of unrelated artists did really well in 2001: Aerosmith, Britney Spears, N'Sync, Nelly & Mary J. Blige. But Red Hot Chile Peppers and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers were both misses. Sometimes an artist with a ton of hits just doesn't fit the event -- Example: Michael Jackson (1993) was only OK. No lack of hits.

I guess alot of artists since Adam have done shock value ever worser. I mean Miley 2013 Vmas. But if Adam gets 8 hits of his album. Part of a multi artist SB HT show. But I guess solo is long shot.

It is so much fun! We need to make a concise participation guide before the movie airs so we can all be ready. There are a lot of variations but if we narrowed it down to the most common, we could imagine each other acting together. It would be great! I think the participation parts will be indicated in the new production -- but there are many guides. For starters, it is "important" to know how to do the Time Warp. Here is a prop list for people who want to get involved: www.rockyhorror.com/participation/proplist.phpHere is a good RHPS link collection with both Guides for RHPS Virgins and Time Warp instructions: www.rockyhorror.com/participation/There are different conventions in the US, Canada, UK and other countries. There are also specific localizations in a few places. Not surprisingly LA has some localizations but so do many other places. For example, in Cleveland at the Cedar-Lee theater, RHPS has been playing for 29 years and has a floor show performed by a local cast called SIMPLY HIS SERVANTS, and there are local, theater-specific participation parts. They are related to the film taking place in Ohio. According to a newspaper article, "the author originally wrote the play to take place in "the fictional town of Denton, Ohio" -- and when they made the film, set designer Brian Thomson chose The Plain Dealer for that reason." Instead of any newspaper, it is important to have a Cleveland Plain Dealer (newspaper) prop to mimic Janet who is reading a copy of The Plain Dealer as she and Brad drive in the rain. Then covering your head with it when Janet uses the paper to cover her head. Another local participation spot is the Ohio map. In the film, there is a map that shows Brad and Janet's trip to the castle is of southeastern Ohio. I have only seen or heard of this prop use here. And before the 29 year run at the Cedar-Lee Theater, RHPS played for 11 years at the Coventry Theater at Coventry & Euclid Heights Blvd, just a 1.2 miles away. When Coverntry Theater closed in 1988, RHPS moved to Cedar-Lee Theater. So a 40 year run in Cleveland Heights!!!

It's totally unrealistic and Adam doesn't even like football haha. I hope for him to feel inspired and energized and supported enough to keep making new music soon.
