Just noticed this in the comment section... "Alexander Morner I'm a huuuge fan of Adam Lambert, but this is not his best performance or cover. It's alright, but it lacks some of the ooopfh the song needs. That's alright, not every cover or performance can be amazing, I still think he did a great job just not as good as he can be, it happens sometimes"
I also remember a fan on Atop saying Adam appeared "stiff". I actually agree..that this was not Adam's best cover. I was hoping for some movement from Adam to make it more of a show versus a stand and deliver for half the song. The second half at least had some energy. That is my humble opinion. It may have helped if GM fans understood it was a tribute...not that Adam has no record deal and has no songs so chooses to cover GM. (as a few stated). The performance is over...Adam got visibility ...upward and onward. If you notice, he had to stand in one place for the first 1/2 of the song because the show's director must have decided the way the would pay homage to George's jukebox, was to have that spinning record behind Adam as he sang! I found that jukebox distracting. It was interesting for 5 seconds. I rank this performance about the same as VH1 Divas "Let's Dance" -- it felt constrained. Not Adam's greatest performance but it reflected well on him as a performer and vocalist. I am also certain that this performance was better live than on TV.

Sometimes I feel as if I have entered an alternate dimension. My musical background is primarily classical, with a side of musical theater, and a soupcon of jazz and American songbook numbers. In none of those genres does anyone care that the performers did not compose the tunes. In fact, most of the time, the composers are NOT also performers, even if they are not long dead. Within that context, it seems absurd that performers are not considered worthy if they do not write their own material, and that one performer has the exclusive and only valid version of the composition. The fact is the talent and skill of musical composition is separate from the talent and skill of performing a piece. Just like acting requires different skills from writing. The work of an excellent composer or author should shine through as long as the actors/singers/musicians are competent. The work of an excellent musician or actor should move the audience even if the material is not profound. When I hear Beethoven's Ninth Symphony I do not think, "Gee, the London Philharmonic does it much better than the New Your Philharmonic." I think, "I LOVE this deeply moving music." When I hear a gifted singer perform "Cry Me a River" I don't think, "Nobody sings this like Ella. No one else should be allowed to sing it, they are butchering it." I just don't get the whole singer/songwriter/original performer thing. IMO it has to do with love not music. When people fall in love with an artist, they lose objectivity. In the case of the George Michael FB page comments -- some of them are by long-time Adam fans who never post there, some of them are by long-time Freddie fans having a bit of fun, but most are by George Michael fans who love him.

Fabulous game changing artists he is compared to! Icons! This OTT rabid fan loyalty has been emphasized with social media in recent years. Sure, singers have always had devoted fans, but fans couldn't unite and communicate like they can now. Before the time when we could all communicate globally and instantly, a simple performance of a cover song on a TV show wouldn't make much of a wave. www.goodreads.com/quotes/6458-meanwhile-the-poor-babel-fish-by-effectively-removing-all-barriers“Meanwhile, the poor Babel fish, by effectively removing all barriers to communication between different races and cultures, has caused more and bloodier wars than anything else in the history of creation.” ― Douglas Adams, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Background: In the book The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, the Babel fish is a creature that feeds on the brainwaves of the person who inserts it in his ear, and allows him to instantly understand any form of communication. Singing popular covers is just one way of getting people to notice you, because they are familiar with those songs. The fact that GM website posted about it, seems like a compliment to me. Why do some glamberts need to stir the pot even further by replying to fans who are just very loyal to their idol. There is room for everyone. I don't feel that one has to slam other artists to be loyal to their idol. Those comments were pretty brutal saying Adam can't sing George, can't sing Queen, can't sing at all, does nothing but covers, no stage presence, etc. I actually like it when people do covers of Adam's music, especially on TV. I usually don't think "Oh Adam does it so much better, this person sucks". I am just glad that he's relevant enough to be covered.

Terrance and Johnny just did a snapchat saying that they are going on vacation tomorrow, but can't say where yet. Gay week in Mykonos Greece starts this week. Remember back when we discussed this possibility a few weeks ago and Adam was tagged in that Greek Villas Instagram. He got a haircut today, so he's good to go..lol We should know shortly..hopefully....if Adam will be going as well. ETA: I see Patti already posted. LOL. It seems like there is going to be quite a crew. But honestly, after the year Adam has had, I would think just relaxing in his own beautiful house, driving his own beautiful whip, would be like a vacation all by itself. But he hasn't visited Greece yet so I hope they have a blast!

Judging by Terrance's snapchat & Adam's haircut, i think that vacation, we've speculated about, might be starting tomorrow! It's amazing that after being away from home for almost 7 months Adam is going away "voluntarily" ... i wonder if he will go to London straight from Greece... ETA: what Linda said!

Lyric video is being promoted by YT it seems. From the comment section: Nyxeon2 minuten geleden Holy shit Proximity you got FRONT PAGED CONGRATULATIONS I'm wondering if youtube checks their analytics and if a tube is getting lots of hits from many different links then that moves it up on the front page or the trend charts. ie, it could be more than just getting a lot of plays in a certain time period. So I'm trying to play it based on all the media that tweets about it to give it more and different links that are hitting it. Save
