Thanks...I see now. But Iggy is the only judge to benefit...seems like she should be able to use only the groups she was given and not have the opportunity to pic from the other judges to make herself another group. But I don't watch these shows and only watched Adam's year on Idol so maybe my thinking is all wrong. Seems, to me, it gives a little unfair advantage to Iggy. I think they all three should have the same playing field.lol It is SOP for xfactor to create a group out of a handful of contestants that don't make it on their own. Iggy likely had absolutely nothing to do with the decision to create the group or to put them through to the live rounds. It ain't that deep, it is just TV entertainment.

I think Iggy had fairly easy decisions to make. That episode was kinda lackluster. There's no one that I was truly bothered that she sent home, and I don't really have a favorite on her team. The girl group and the duo are both okay. I think keeping the guy group she created was silly, just continued manufactured "drama" with Adam, a bone for teens or boy band lovers and early elimination fodder, I'd guess.
I do hope Beatz gets another chance in the Underdog group, though. I figure the show would want the head-to-head conflict with Montage (ugh, these names).
I raised my eyebrow at a couple of Adam's comments about her groups. I couldn't tell if he was being strategic and trying to get Iggy to pick some groups who'd be easier to beat, or if he completely believed everything he said.
I think Chynna, from Guy's team, is awesome. I would not have given Zebulen a seat after the second audition. If Dave (who sang the Kate Bush song) was auditioning for The Voice in the U.S., I think he'd be a shoo-in, but they probably think he's too old for this show and posed a danger of making it too far based on his voice and the sentimental factor. I liked Ruby, that girl who sang first, personality and general vibe-wise, but she didn't have the strongest voice, so I can see how she wouldn't be picked when you only have three spots and already have Chynna.
I definitely would have kept Naisa, and given Davey the boot, based on vocals and actual possibility of advancing far in the competition. I don't know why you'd need a Davey and a Timmy both on your team. But I like (for now) Davey as a character, so whatever. I find that Timmy dude ho-hum, but I'm sure he'll appeal to a segment of viewers and I guess the show needed his "type" in a more polished, Marlboro Man kinda guise.
Overall, it was a little deflating for me to watch Guy so thoroughly play the game. It felt like he was more concerned about "picking lanes" and helping advance the modern day gladiator entertainment aspect of the show at the expense of the contestants.
Maybe Guy's been doing it for too long and is a little jaded and knows that it's sometimes easier to ride one horse---in his case, Chynna---to the finish line, that everyone else is just going to fall by the wayside anyway and it's usually easier not to have too much intra-team competition that could pull focus from his chosen one.
I know Adam knows how the game is played, too, but I felt he tried to strike a balance, within the reality show parameters, and made the attempt to reward real talent, at least when it came to his own team.
I just watched that lame Mel vs. Iggy promo. Yuck.
If Mel has to select one singer/group from each of the three existing categories, I'd choose Ivy, Beatz, and Naisa for the Underdog team.

I guess we are all different in our opinions. I think Zebulon sounds too much like Adele. He works over time at his voice being so affected. I think Ivey is very talented. Bu t I am not so sure she would do well if she won. The one that strikes me the most is the guy/girl who sang it's a man's world. I thought he/she was so tender in their interpretation of their song today and is so versatile, but has a snowball's chance in hell to make it. I think Amalia would be eaten up in the music business. I think the Texan is going to be the winner, or a runner up. Why not? I agree with Amailia, as she is only 14. But I think Ivy is at the right age, over 20. So if she won IMO she has the most potential to be a relevant recording artist, and be on the radio. Ivy is sooooooooo marketable!!! I do Agree about Chynna. She is awesome! Amalia is very special. A lot of Pop stars right now are very very young! Daya is only 17! And killing it on the charts. Whoever wins will have Simon as their manager, label, etc. So he/she will be under his control for quite a few years, if he chooss to promote them.

Sorry I don't know 'reality singing shows' lingo so I don't know what your "SOP" means. I never felt it was "that deep" but I was merely asking questions about the structure of these types of programs and trying to figure out why they do certain things since I've never watched these kinds of shows. And yes, it doesn't escape me that it is " just TV entertainment" but I was trying to gain some knowledge and understanding of the show and add my thoughts about it. It's not that deep.

SOP Standard Operating Procedure..... not a reality TV term, but used in many fields, particularly the military.
