It is SOP for xfactor to create a group out of a handful of contestants that don't make it on their own. Iggy likely had absolutely nothing to do with the decision to create the group or to put them through to the live rounds. It ain't that deep, it is just TV entertainment. Sorry I don't know 'reality singing shows' lingo so I don't know what your "SOP" means. I never felt it was "that deep" but I was merely asking questions about the structure of these types of programs and trying to figure out why they do certain things since I've never watched these kinds of shows. And yes, it doesn't escape me that it is " just TV entertainment" but I was trying to gain some knowledge and understanding of the show and add my thoughts about it. It's not that deep. But it's the norm with the UK X Factor for the production people to put together a group from the 'rejects' - and they often do very well! One Direction and LittleMix, two of the biggest in the world right now, were formed in exactly this way.
