Those few minutes that treated us to Adam last night were absolutely delicious!!! His vocals are a given, but boy, can he act!!! Even his lips at the end took on the role and kept us guessing for a while (I recognized his beautiful teeth though haha). Praying for more roles for him. He's the whole package...when he shows up, sparks fly!!! I think it was a brilliant move of him to take on the role of Eddie, however my mind kept wandering what a visual and vocal treat he would have been in the lead. There's one concern in terms of future roles....it is very hard to take the pretty and sexy out of him, even with a costume designer that does his very best

The Rolling Stone review with the "bafflingly miscast" comment, for those who want to see it. www.rollingstone.com/tv/news/rocky-horror-picture-show-5-things-we-learned-w445736peace&love ETA - The paragraph with the comment for those who want to see only that much. "The throughline connecting the key players who most decidedly do not get it – Christina Milian as Magenta, Adam Lambert as a bafflingly miscast Eddie, and even, at times, Laverne Cox – is their name-brand recognition. They're hired to bring some bumps in attention to the program, and while they can all get through a tune without collapsing, they move through the scenes as if looking for a lifeline or a way out. The three of them feel out of place, especially when getting out-sung and out-danced at every turn by their co-stars."

Just to counter this wrong-headed assessment of Adam, here is what a certain world renowned rock guitarist says about him: Lambert has the most extraordinary voice that I have ever heard. That says a lot because I have heard a lot of voices in my time. It's an extraordinary instrument and he has learned to control it and harness it during the time that we've worked with him. Sometimes I just stand and watch, and my mouth drops. He has massive confidence and ability, but also a very nice humility.... Brian May

He moved around a lot to the music while singing. And he CAN actually dance, too, when called upon. I've said before that I thought the production as whole was kind of mediocre, slow-moving, etc. But Adam certainly stands apart and lots of reviewers are saying so. SO THERE, RS!

The ratings were kind of lukewarm, only under 5 millions people watched. RHPS isn't for everybody. Out of the 20 people I work with everyday only 2 of us were really excited about the show. One of them was me of course and the other was a guy who his into super hero's and Avant Garde musical theatre. However, I did get a few to watch and most enjoyed it. The RS review is typical RS BS in my opinion!
