Yikes! What a hot looking crew. Funny not to see Adam towering over other guys in picture. I love this....it is rare that we see Adam as the most feminine of a group....he is even on the arm of a man larger/equal [at least] to himself...this is rare. He looks gorgeous.... I just had a thought....do you suppose he is making some sort of a statement? Could he be indicating that the 'normalization' of his 'natural' appearance is over and we are going to see a resurgence of the Glam!! Who knows! I'm so bad at figuring out his clues, but tell you what, he looks hot as hell. I adore both his glam look and his recent look. Whichever way he goes, even back and forth, I'm on board.

Speaking if fighting bias of any kind....this is a good watch...and I am sure there are many who think she is lying, exaggerating, just being defensive, asking for it, or it was all just by chance....all the excuses we seem inclined to use at the mere appearance of the possibility of any sort of bias... My point posting this is that the same claims that Madonna did not suffer bias is often claimed that Adam does not suffer bias....and I suggest that he does....this stuff is rarely overt. No it is not as much now as when he started even....but I would be interested in knowing if those instagram numbers, for example, have been consistent over time rather than coincidentally now...just saying... There is no doubt that Instagram is in the midst of a purge today -- that is closing a lot of fake accounts. It is effecting many people -- gay, straight, male, female, famous and not so famous. So the account drop probably had nothing to do with the photos Adam posted. Did Adam face obstacles and bias because he was gay? Sure, particularly within the music business -- radio and music labels would not play or sign a gay or lesbian artist for fear of what their audience/fans/advertisers/retailers would do. Look at what happened to Elton John in the US after he came out -- his fans avoided him, sales of fan magazines with him on the cover did not sell, etc. (and not just in the US.) And while it is easy to be righteous about the whole thing today, in the US it was illegal to be gay until the Supreme Court ruled in 2003 and voters are responsible for the actions of the people the elect and the laws they pass. And usually the only people who showed up at radio and broadcast station licensing hearings to help establish "community standards" were members of the Christian right. Etc. Not to beat a dead horse, Adam faced bias, women in music face bias, etc. etc. But people watch Anderson Cooper (CNN) and Shephard Smith (Fox News) and Robert Thomas (NBC News) and no one seems to have an issue that they are gay. Radio stations -- even in the US -- play Sam Smith a lot. He sells millions. He fills arenas. I do not think Adam's commercial reception for the past few years has been heavily effected by his sexual orientation, but more effected by his choice of non-mainstream genres and slightly edgy style choices. I would not have posted that in 2010, but I believe it now. Finally, even in 2009, Adam got opportunities because he was gay, he otherwise would not have gotten -- the cover of Rolling Stone, closing the AMAs, having two flagship Clear Channel radio stations push WWFM, and so on. Not looking to be argumentative AT ALL. But do you really think that Adam closed the AMAs and got on the cover of Rolling Stone because he was gay? Rolling Stone was where he first announced it publicly. I thought that he got Rolling Stone cover and AMAs because he was the freshest most talented and compelling person in music in a long, long time. Michael Jackson/Elvis impact level. I never considered the AMAs slot was because he is gay. I never thought that ANY opportunity that he got was because he was gay. I thought his talent got him to where he was. Maybe I'm just reading into it wrong. As far as his IG unfollows...who cares? He is exactly who he is and I love him for that. Adam has said that sometimes people are just scared by what they don't understand. He has said that he is ridiculous. lol If makeup on a dude, or drag and piercings shakes them up...well, welcome to real life. Aleppo and the world condition at large is much worse than an artist on a break having some fun times after bringing so much joy with his world tour and two legs of QAL. Not to mention RHPS and both X Factors. Social Media (SoMe) sometimes is taken too seriously. If SoMe was extremely relevant, then Gaga's Joanne would not have tanked with her 60 million+ followers. jmho I like seeing Adam being in his element and having fun in NYC. This is probably the most pure fun that he has had in a long time. Just seeing old friends, Broadway shows, not having to be on the clock, and generally chilling out. For all we know, (and we don't lol) he might have another crushing busy year coming up and sees this as a last chance for awhile to have unfettered fun times. Just putting out a new album is plenty of hard work.

Since bias has bocome a topic today, NYT six video series www.nytimes.com/video/who-me-biased As to real IG follower losses, Adam did a trifecta today with heavy makeup, drag, body piercings, and an extra side of spam. Lots to buttons pushed NBD. Adam is ADAM... folks either accept him or they don't.. He is many sided and fiercely independent, that's why I love him so much His fans who's been following him for a while, they know who he is and what he likes. But for casual fans that just recently following him, things that graciejane mentioned above can be a turn off. It's like the lyrics of FYI - They don't know what they got into and they cannot handle the heat. Oh, do you know what you got into?
Can you handle what I'm 'bout to do?
Cause it's about to get rough for you
I'm here for your entertainment
Oh, I bet you thought that I was soft and sweet
You thought an angel swept you off your feet
Well I'm about to turn up the heat

I have a problem finding anyone else to like. Since 2009, I can't stand to listen to anyone but Adam or follow anyone but Adam. I only think about, care about, want to listen to only Adam. I am having a very isolated life lately. I can't wait for more Adam music. I have the same problem, too. I try to be objective about it. I listen to other singers. But they just don't sound as good as Adam. Even singers that I thought were really great don't sound as good as I thought they did. That doesn't mean I don't like them. I still do. But it does means that my standards for what a "great voice" is have really changed since Adam. He is just miles better vocally than anyone else I've ever heard. Really changes your perspective. The only person I follow closely is Adam. And it's a joy, even with all the ups and downs.

It may be too early to draw conclusions from a series of pics these past few days only, but I too have been wondering if Adam wants to give us a hint about what to expect next. He is certainly not shy about sharing and it almost looks like he is looking for reactions. I personally don't mind the Glam look here and there but I very much prefer Adam's "natural" beauty.

In the pictures above of Adam with the 3 other guys, the guy next to him in the NY ball cap is Nyle DiMarco. He is deaf. He won Americas Next Top Model and Dancing With The Stars a couple seasons ago. (Just in case people didn't recognize him)
