It's so hypocritical of some members of the press.First they build you up ,then they knock you down and then they glorify you when you die.. If George Michaels is looking down on all this glorification from some of the same press that tried to destroy him.. I wonder what he is thinking... RIP George you lived your life fully with meaning and with great courage.. You will always be loved Press / Media now, they're all about sensational and rating/sales. I don't think most of them care about telling the truth anymore. But it's hard to blame them if that's what the market (people who has the buying power) wants.

So let's see...Adam is possibly the reincarnation of Elvis, must fill Freddie Mercury's AND George Michael's shoes...anybody else? Hope he has time to be Adam Lambert lol...that's some heavy responsibility heaped on those shoulders. No worries. Adam can do it all.😉

Jim David @comicjimdavid 2h2 hours ago .@adamlambert, the torch is now passed to you. You have big shoes to fill. You can do it. #ripgeorgemichael No way! That's too much pressure on our Adam. Why can Adam be Adam? Does he have to carry the torch from Freddie and GM too??

Yeah I don't like this idea of Adam filling anyone's shoes. Apart from anything it's not his responsibility to fill GMs shoes. And to be quite honest. Hes not the next GM, or Freddie, or Prince etc. He's the next Adam Lambert. People this day in age always compare people, shows,, anything to the past. How do you think George Michael and co became icons? By being something in the past? No by being their unique selfs, and having their own unique voice. I've just never liked this idea of comparing Adam to past icons. Sure he's inspired by them. But Adam, is simply one of a kind. The only Adam Lambert their we'll ever be.
As for the woman v male comparison. I can agree mainstream tends to accept sexually overt female performers then men. I guess we have come a long way. From Elvis thrusting his hips, which back in the sixties was considered obscene. To an openly gay man, kissing his straight guitarist. Funny thing is when I first saw Adams AMA performance in 2009. I didn't think gross. I was instantly like rock n roll man!! Lol. Not to dredge this topic up again. But just saying aheee you switch it with a female performer things would of been different. Adam I believe since 2009 has been pushing boundaries of sexuality. And the hypocrisies within the industry. Most Music Execes are stuffy white Middle Ages men. His AMA performance forced a look at the double standard. And I beleive Adam has had one of the biggest impacts on the music industry this past decade. Which goes beyond a chart placement. He's made an cultural impact.

There’s no denying that this insanely talented 80’s boy band member-turned solo artist will go down in history as one of the greatest songwriters and LGBT trailblazers in pop music history. The proof lies in the many artists who have spoken out about how George inspired them following his untimely death. Not only has George Michael’s death been met with kind words and condolences, his music has received a huge uptick in streams. Iconic hits like “Last Christmas,” “Faith,” and “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go” have skyrocketed over 3,000% more streams compared to this time last week on Spotify. We’ve rounded up 11 of George Michael’s most important hits that have inspired some of the pop artists we know and love today. (Adam mention) “Father Figure”
Adam Lambert has been on a steady rise since winning American Idol in 2009. Perhaps no other pop artist exudes the look and sound of George Micheal quite like Lambert. The proudly gay singer/songwriter is known for his signature smokey eye makeup and funky wardrobe choices. When we watch his elusive black & white video for “Ghost Town,” we can’t help but think of George Michael’s iconic song and video “Father Figure.” Lambert, who issued a R.I.P message to Michael on his Twitter account, also did a stellar cover of his hit song “Faith” this year at American Idol’s “Greatest Hits” show in August.
