Hypothetically if Adam was involved in the GM Grammy tribute. I actually se Elton John doing it. From a historical stand point it makes sense. I would love though Adam coming onto stage to do a duet with Elton. Someone suggested Don't let the sun go down on me. That be quite a moment. But of course it's just conjecture at this stage.

The comparisons between Adam and the great icons of pop/rock don't bother me. No one is saying that Justin Bieber is the next Elvis, Sam Smith is the next Freddie Mercury or Shawn Mendes is the next George Michael. Adam has the voice, the sexiness, the looks and the theatricality to match those icons ... and then some, IMO. I'll take that recognition. In a generation, he will be the icon others are compared to. Yes, Cassie you are right.
But why do so many great ones have to die before there is recognition?
Some might have stayed with us longer if they had known how much we cared, loved them, and truly recognized their creativity and gifts.
The creative soul is fragile and a little love can go a long way. We blame them for their self destruction, however, they give us the shadows of their life and the joys. Sometimes the shadows overcome the joys.
They are written about and looked at as a commodity when alive. They aren't. They are unique humans, laying their heart and soul out to us.
We should try to give a little more love. Let's practice with Adam. I think we don't know how to show how much we care....... While many great musicians and performers die without proper recognition, I don't think that happened with George Michael (or Prince or Freddie). According to Wiki, G eorge Michael sold more than 100 million records worldwide. His 1987 debut solo album Faith sold more than 20 million copies worldwide. Michael garnered seven number one singles in the UK and eight number one hits on the Billboard Hot 100 in the US, including "Careless Whisper" and "Freedom! '90". He ranks among the best-selling British acts of all time, with Billboard magazine ranking him the 40th-most successful artist ever. Michael won various music awards throughout his 30-year career, including three Brit Awards—winning Best British Male twice, four MTV Video Music Awards, four Ivor Novello Awards, three American Music Awards, and two Grammy Awards from eight nominations. Michael, who was gay, was an active LGBT rights campaigner and HIV/AIDS charity fundraiser.
He was famous, rich, commercially successful and recognized within the music industry. Then after he came out he was treated very badly by the press and many in the music industry. But fans stayed with him and radio stations played his music. So he got through it. His personal life has always been a bit of a shamble, he suffered from depression and substance abuse problems. I think one of George Michael's issues was that he was so massively successful when he was young, he could never achieve that level of success again. But one thing is certain, all the fame and fortune the world can offer will not guarantee happiness.

On the George Michael Grammy Tribute -- the list of people who could be in it is very long -- in addition to Adam, I have seen Elton John, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Sia, Adele, Boy George, Sting, and Bono, Stevie Wonder, and many others on lists.
The only person who seems essential is his Wham! bandmate, Andrew Ridgeley.
The most likely other person is Elton John.
My only hope is that after the {disappointing} Lady Gaga Bowie Tribute, I hope she is not part of this one. She is on a bunch of online lists, but I think that is because she is always in the mix on these kind of events.
ETA: Another name floating out there -- Justin Timberlake.

Timberlake or Gaga would be bad choices. Adam and Elton seem suitable. But I don't know if The Grammys are looking at it from a self indulgent stand point. Or actual quality. I don't know. We'll see.

I hope Adam is not involved in a George Michael tribute. He pays tribute to Freddie when he performs with Queen. That's enough for me.

Doubt they would choose Boy George. I think that would make a lot of Boy george and George fans very angry!

I also think it should be Andrew or Elton. I think it should be someone who actually knew him well. I thought to myself, watch it be Lady Gaga since they keep asking her to do performances when there are others more fitting and sure enough an article comes out that she should be on the list. There has never been anything about her that appeals to me.
