So he went to see LaLaLand at the movies today...and was in Santa Monica. Out and about. I didn't know anything about this movie.....checked out their Twitter account. Looks like a fun movie! I see John Legend has a role in this movie as well as sings some tunes. I just saw LaLa Land over the weekend. It's a very sweet, but also very bittersweet story about the sacrifices people make when assuming their personal dreams. Interestingly, throughout it all, I couldn't stop thinking about my perception of what happened between Adam and Sauli; right or wrong, my take was that they both had career aspirations in their respective countries that made long-term co-habitation an impossibility. Again, I don't pretend to actually know them, but that's the feeling I got when they ended on such an amicable note.

The nice part about being here, is that we all have different opinions and perceptions about things. My opinion and perception as to why Adam and Sauli broke up, is that Adam wanted to work more on his career. And that he was bored with their relationship. He stated that in more than 1 interview, while doing promo for TOH. I don't know what career aspirations Sauli might have had in Finland. He did do Dancing On Ice for some months and the Big Brother behind the scenes show. Maybe he thought it would lead to other work too. But it just didn't materialize for him. In the 4 years since their breakup, Sauli was still spending great amounts of time in LA. As well as globe trotting great distances to see Adam. So he really didn't go straight back to Finland because there were such lucrative jobs waiting for him. Now, at least he does have his Personal Trainer certification. IMO, he can now comfortably stay in his homeland and have employment. So that is a good thing for him. It is always Adam's style to stay amicable with ex's. I never thought that he would treat Sauli any differently than he has treated Cheeks, Drake, Taylor or Bridger. Adam is just a good guy. It's nice that he keeps those connections. Having said all this...I, with out a doubt, DO think that Adam has, and is still making sacrifices for his personal dreams. I'm sure that sometimes, being on the road must be hard with no one to share the time with. Thank goodness that tours don't go on and on and on for a ridiculous amount of months. That would be very hard. But, the upside is that Adam has so many friends globally. He has said that he works very hard to maintain those friendships. He seems to make friends very easily. He is also a great adapter to most any situation.

I have seen this a few times in the past years, and now every time somebody says "ELEVEN", I cannot stop laughing, and have to repeat it with my version of a Scottish accent... We are binge-watching the new seasons of "The Fall" on Netflix, saw the first season a few years ago when it came out, and in one of those first episodes there was an Irish mob guy knocking on a door shouting "Open the door" with the thickest Irish accent. So now when we decide to watch a few episodes, I ask my wife "Do you want to oopen da doooor?" and she totally knows what I mean

What he sayed was that there he didn't have alot of things going on, since the second album didn't turn out what he hoped it would be, and he had time to hang out in LA with friends and such and that's when the questions he discusses in TOH came up. I do agree with you though that Adam has made and is still making great sacrifices for the life he his leading being on the road and such. It's hard to judge a relationship from the outside let alone from the distance we have to it and mostly there is not THE ONE particular reason for a split.

I worked in the entertainment industry and am married to an actor and I can tell you it is difficult, if not impossible, to sustain a healthy relationship without one person willing to give more of themselves than the other to help build a career. It's just the nature of the beast. I think Adam knows this and realizes that now is not a good time for a long term relationship.

My dad is/was (one more year till retirement) very successful in his job. Very dedicated, always available, so I have seen the struggles my parents have in their relationship, so I do have some insight to that. I couldn't agree more with you. It comes with ALOT of sacrifices. Distance and scarce time for each other is a hard toll on a relationship.
