I'll love to see a return of Glam Rock! But even if that happens. I don't think it means a Adams going to go back to wearing tons of makeup or androgynous looks. Like that infamous Fye Album cover lol. I think he's probably searching for that balance. But Glam Rock next album I would welcome. But, the very definition of Glam Rock IS heavy makeup and out there costuming from the 70's. If you would would like to see Adam go back to that, make up would be involved to get the point of Glam Rock across. That's where "Glam" comes into defining that style of music and performance. I saw nothing wrong with the cover of FYE. Kara had said to him,... I can see you doing Glam Rock from the 70's. No one is doing it.... It IS what he did for the FYE era. Did it go over well? Initially. I think it did. He was new, fresh and hot as fire. Most of the world seemed accepting of it imo. For Trespassing era, I was a little disappointed that he pulled back. I was not disappointed in the music. I thought it was all really great. I was disappointed that he pulled back fashion wise and less makeup. I believe that he was told to do that for mainstream acceptance. Sad really, that he might have been told to do that. I don't know for sure if that was the case. It just seems so to me. TOH album...he seemed to have struck a balance between over the top fashion at the shows and makeup. I was happy to see him expressing more personal freedom again. IMO, his 4th album is going to reflect a lot of what has gone on in the world. There is no way imo that these famous deaths of Bowie, Prince and George M. will not have an influence on him and his mindset towards his creativity. Pulse Night Club, I'm sure will figure in there too. jmho Whatever he ultimately chooses to do, I am there for it. Not only am I in love with that voice, I find the man himself fascinating. Right there with you 1june14....

Right there with you 1june14.... I don't see the problem. He can do Some Glam Rock. Do some dance numbers. Do some deep House, a few acoustic Guitar ballads. I'm not saying he should go all out with it. All in proportion. It's all about pop fusion. He Doesent need to change his current image or style to do that.

Kathleen Wimpelberg @jaksox 2h2 hours ago Devil Rebel with the blue dress... blue dress ... blue dress... no wait... Devil Rebel with the blue jacket & the Red Lips & the 🕷 on! 👹👄💋💄 Hmm he looks very feminine lol. But Adams very inconsistently consistent. Next pic he well look very masculine. It's a roller coaster ride. It's why it's exciting. Adam keeps us on our toes. I read some comments thinks Adams getting laid too much. Abs hope he Doesent get aids lol. Yeah. But I do wonder if he's preparing the fans. For a new direction. Or we'll see Glam Rock return. Who knows. Watch this space. IMO there is no such thing as getting laid "too much." Really? What is the magic number? Where are you reading these comments? Please let me know. I would avoid that place. First, it's no ones business. And second, how would anyone know that? That's a really funny comment. I hope everyone is getting laid as much as they can. Even Adam. Sex is not the enemy. I guess there is a first for everything. I have NEVER read "aids" and "lol" in the same sentence. Spine chilling actually. There is nothing remotely funny or lol in hoping that someone does not contract aids. imo of course. ymmv

Looks like the purple shirt was in Sutan's bag of goodies from Adam's closet.

Me too! And, IMO, he might even get political, in terms of important civil rights issues. Yes, he might. And I welcome it. The world imo has gone upside down. How can he, as such a caring person not write and sing about it. I'm sure others in the industry will go that way too. These are very trying times that can't be ignored. We all globally are being affected by it. Interesting times. I tend to agree. There has been SO much happening this past year relating to social issues, freedom, equality. I wonder if he'll take A4 in that direction? Of course, I love good ol' rock and roll, too, with some glam thrown in. But maybe Adam will feel the urge to express himself with a little politics thrown in. It will be interesting to find out.

I don't think Adam DOES androgyny, I think he IS natually androgen, and it is just a question a) how much he shows it at any given time, and b) whether that is what he wants the focus to be on.
What I am saying is, if he lets his soul swing freely, everything will naturally be there, both the male and female parts and all the other things this world has not yet boxed into M and F categories. He has to tuck certain parts of his persona away, metaphorically speaking, to not be androgynous. And he has become pretty good at dialing it up and down intentionally and at will when he is on stage, on TV, in interviews, etc. He is able to bring it back out intentionally at any given moment, and usually can get a laugh out of a crowd, when he suddenly dials it up or at least some good will. But I don't think he is always understood when he does that. Btw, he can do this both with imagery that would be perceived 'female' in nature or imagery or gestures, speech that typically would be considered 'gay'. He plays with these elements interchangeably.
But here is the thing: Adam has obviously learned over time that if he does what comes naturally to him, that all the attention and focus tends to go there, to the detriment of other things he may want to say at that moment. And so at times it is in his interest to draw the attention away from this constant big topic overshadowing all others. I think he did try that with TOH, and succeeded to some degree.
Right now he is on private time, and can and should obviously do whatever he wants, but given that he sends these pictures quite conscientiously out to the world, I agree with those here that suspect he is getting us ready for another shift in persona, one with more androgyny as part of it.
Be it the present political climate and all that is going on, or be it a personal artistic vision that makes him go there more strongly so, I think that a newer and updated version of androgyny on full display is coming, and that Bowie is probably leading the pack in personal influence and role model for Adam. He now has Freddie, David Bowie, Prince, MJ and George Michael all on the other side, leaving him to having to find his own path rather than being grandfathered in by one of them.
That is a lot of angel's wings to carry him forward, but it sure also makes the path a little less easy to envision, and a lot more lonely. He is encountering that on so many different levels of life, he may just want to color his world more brightly for the next album, just to counteract that weight. Maybe he also has other reasons to draw him there again. I am glad he can lean on his friends as he can, and has their support and ours too, of course. I love Adam in all his visual variety. It will be fresh and new again, whatever he comes up with, and he will probably go the high fashion route this time around, I would think. Less glittery, but still very fabulous.

I love Adam's red lips, blue suit tribute to David Bowie!! He loojs good!
And the FYE album cover has been my favourite of Adam's cover art. I had the picturecas my PC screen background for a long time.
All this talk about gender norms reminds me of the strong gender typing when I was in secondary school in the 70's. I was half way through 9th grade before females won the right to wear pants to school. And don't even get me started on how females had to fight to be given the same opportunities in math and science given to males. The female high school and college students I've had as interns in the last 15 years have not been subject to this kind of gender bias. We've come a long way in allowing women to be themselves in areas that were traditionally considered the domain on men. But men still have a long way to go to gain the same freedom to be themselves in areas considered traditionally female. So glad that Adam feels comfortable with his feminine side!!

So please do not presume things, to the contrary. And make assumptions about me thank you. My lol was to the comments I read on his ig page.
