THIS! hate both songs but NCOE is really horrific to my ears... both are deleted from all my devices... but I did come across NCOE love on twitter and here we have Luke, who likes the song... thank god for that! Not sure why Better Than I Know Myself is coming up in the Bruno discussion. That was a Claude Kelley song not Bruno Mars. I didn't say it was Bruno Mars. I said NCOE was one of his worse songs ever, along with BTIKM. ETA: When I said one of his worst songs, I meant Adam's songs. Sorry for he confusion. I always knew Bruno didn't write BTIKM.

Did not care for Never Close Our Eyes at all but BTIKM was fine for me. BTIKM was released at a bad time and never stood a chance. I'm sure the bad press at the time did not help much. I loved the video tho. As for Bruno, I liked some of his earlier work but now it always seems like just another dance party. He is talented but not all that interesting to me. Prince was Prince so not much of a comparison IMo. At the end of the day, most songs that get non stop radio play will chart high and become hits even if they are not very good or original. I sure hope Warner puts some big effort on radio when Adam releases his new music. The idea that only perfect songs get the massive radio play is just silly. When you listen to all that make it to top 10 you know that is not true. Some are really good and others are only okay and will get played anyway based on who the artist is. But I am really hopeful that Adam will get the chance to really shine this time.
Also, maybe Adam is fine with it but I too wish he could have some privacy on off time without someone broadcasting it out all the time.

I am first going to listen before going all judgmental about a tune, just on the basis that other people have copied supposedly from others. In fact, of all the ways how you could evaluate new music, the one thing that I would blindly give Adam a 10 out of 10 on is originality. He has over the last years given me so many completely different sounds, so many styles, so much variety, that I am not sure how that can all spring from one person's artistic mind...yes, I know he has help, but anyhow...his footprints are all over every track. The variety from an introverted Broken Open to a silly Down the Rabbit Hole, to a Rock / Pop song like Running, to a funky track like Trespassing or Shady, to a ballad like CLYG, to a dance track like Pop This Lock, to a mysterious deep yet dancy track like Ghost Town, it may be hard to pinpoint Adam's style due to variety, but one thing you cannot say, is that it is a copy of something else. It is a wonderful exotic variety on display, an eclectic buffet of experimental enjoyment. And it allowed me a lot of learning about music along the way, exactly because it was sidestepping the usual. A lot of Adam's music is quirky, unorthodox, 'out of the box', the one thing it certainly is not, is either boring or a copy. Just because we mostly non-artists cannot think of something new, does not mean that he cannot. He has proven with every album he has made, that he most certainly can, and I have enjoyed them all, some songs instantly, some others grew on me, but even after all these years, I enjoy grabbing any one of his albums and listen to them. They age well. Now you throw Nile in there too, and you certainly have a lot of creative energy, maybe you also have two loose cannons, that I am not sure about, but you are certain to get something interesting. So, if funk is what they went for with that song, then I am all up for that, I am sure that other tracks will have other flavors and I bet there will be something for everybody. Thanks for this post. It gave me a strong incentive to listen to Adam's albums all over again!

I listened to "FOR YOUR ENTERTAINMENT" album the other day and really enjoyed it. Go back and listen to the old ones now and then.

DH mentioned to me yesterday, while listening to radio in the car, that the new LG single "Million Reasons" likely only gets radio play because of the artist's name. I was surprised that he said that. We both agreed that the song is just okay.

Wow, someone who feels exactly the way I do. I thought that Uptown Funk just sound like a rip-off from the 70s and he's done that with other songs too (sound-alikes of Alicia Keys, Sting) and if I remember correctly, even Adam said one of his songs sounds like an Adele song? Also, don't like his lyrics, his look, etc. And he gets arrested for cocaine and no one cares, but it seems a bigger deal was made of Adam's arrest in Finland. Anyway, JMO too! Bruno has talked about the Cocaine arrest, which was 5 years ago, and the press did make a big deal out of it. There was a great interview with Bruno on the pre Grammy show by 60 Minutes. If anyone if curious, here is the link. They have it separated into several videos. I love some of his songs and hate some. But, The man has worked hard to get where he has & IMO, is very talented. www.cbsnews.com/news/bruno-mars-on-songwriting-60-minutes-overtime/I saw that interview with 60 minutes and he told about all his journey from kids to now, the ups and downs of his career. It's a really good one. And I have to agree with all your post. Just like Adam, he may not everyone cup of tea, but Bruno has worked very hard, I think since he was a kid and he's a very talented guy. Especially very talented songwriter, if he decided to retire from singing, he can make money as songwriter.

I don't think he is ripping off prince at all. He's very talented. His Prince Tribute was very good. And of course the Adam connection is Never Close Our Eyes. Which personally I think is one of Adams most underrated Pop Tracks. No he's not ripping off Prince. I think Bruno is a huge fan of Jim Brown. Who doesn't?

OT but this is so adorable! It's Freddie singing here with Queen not Adam but so cute! Bonni Moschetti 🌴♫♪ bmoschetti 3h3 hours ago German Shepherd Asleep In The Back Seat When Her Favourite Song Comes On... ln.is/www.gohappiest.com/2/AxLqz … #WATC @drbrianmay @adamlambert I don't know anything about dog, It sounded like that German Shepherd was singing along but if you read at the end of the comments, people said that dogs have very sensitive hearing, and the high notes or something in the song actually hurt his/her hearing.

There was also a comment of a veterinarian who said that this has nothing to do with his hearing, but that this is a response to howling with the pack. I was a little worried as well.

For those who are talking about Bruno and his huge succes maybe some facts that make you feel a little better.
I found out today that in the Netherlands 24k Magic is doing worse in the charts than GT. So here in the Netherlands GT was a bigger hit than 24k Magic from Bruno. Bruno might have done a little better in streaming numbers, but the numbers are overall way higher now than in 2015 anyway. This is also reflected in the amount of streams that you need to get certifications. They upped that number last year so you need about double the amount of streams than you needed before.
Worldwide Bruno might have done better with his song, but at least in the Netherlands Adam's song is more appreciated!
