My long Adam story for the day. Previously, I found out my dentist was a Queen fan because during small talk I had said that I was going to several concerts of my favorite singer. We chit-chat about it often and he had said that all the Queen fans he knows thinks it's a great thing, the expected, "He's no Freddie" but he said they said if anyone were to take his place, Adam is the only one who could do it. My dentist himself thought Adam had a great voice. I went in for a cleaning this morning and assumed he heard they were coming to town. I asked, are you going to the Queen concert? He got really excited and said, "Are they coming here?" and I said yes. He asked when so he could go try to get tickets immediately. He mentioned to the dental hygienist that I was a big Queen fan (I corrected him and said "of the lead singer") and she said, oh he is really good. He can hit the high notes. She was a Queen fan also and I told her she should go to the concert. When I tried to make the next dental appointment, the receptionist said "June 29th, a Thursday" and I said "Oops, I told the dentist about a concert being on the 27th, but I know it's Thursday" so I told her I told him the wrong date. She wrote down the correct date to tell him. She asked who it was and I said "Queen". She said "Adam Lambert? I am a huge fan!!!" She got really excited. She checked her calendar unfortunately she will be out of town but I told her to check out shows in LA or LV. She said excitedly that she is going to research it now. I asked her if she saw him live, she said no but she watches him every time he's on TV. She said he really draws you in. We were both flailing about him for several minutes, including his looks (my usual, I think he's the most beautiful man I've ever seen and she agreed), etc. and I told her to email me if she had any questions about the concerts. It did make me realize, is this tour not well advertised? Here's potentially 2 or more people who would want to go see them in a flash but had no idea they were going to be playing locally. I did have one other local friend who is a non-fan mention "Oh that Queen show being advertised everywhere"...Other than him, no one else I know locally had mentioned it. On another note, I mentioned I was going to see Queen to a niece of mine who used to like him on Idol but lost interest from his first album and she said "I've always wanted to see him with Queen". I had another pair of tickets that I bought that were not as good as mine right in front of the neck of the guitar and I offered those spare tickets to her. She could not get anyone to come with her for about a month and she said to just give the tickets to someone else and I said "No, I want you to go because you are the ONLY family member besides my sister who actually said they wanted to see Adam. I will wait for you to find someone to go with". A couple days ago I got mail saying her boyfriend has committed to going with her (not sure he is a fan). Anyway, hope to convert them both to Glamberts. I love your story! Imagine a visit to the dentist turning into a "Lambert event." I wish I had chance meetings like that that turned into chats about Adam. And I hope your niece and her boyfriend enjoy the QAL show. I hope they're impressed with the whole show, but especially with Adam. I hope they see him with new eyes and are willing to give him a second chance. He is so worth it. Sometimes I think about the fans who were all on board during and shortly after Idol but then fell away. Good think so many of us DIDN'T leave the fandom but stuck around to witness Adam's amazing career grow and flourish. I always say that I hope he can diversify his career, moving to acting, etc. I pray that he gets that chance. Thanks, girldrummer. I remember this particular niece was asking ME to go the Idol concert but can't remember why she couldn't go. She and her boyfriend at the time thought he was AWESOME on Idol, and she thought he was beautiful. When I gave her the FYE album, she was so disappointed. She said nothing stood out. Although she said watching the videos helped as she said a big part of why she liked him was visual. She also said that she thought Adam's problem was not his voice but the genre he chose, which she called Euro-pop. BTW, she was in her 20s so she was the right demographic. At that point, Trespassing had come out and I wanted to say "No, he doesn't JUST do Euro-pop" but I just didn't want to push any more. So she even mentioning wanting to see Adam after all these years was music to my ears. If she couldn't find someone to go with, I was going to ask my cousin (her uncle). I asked him if he liked Queen and he said "Yes!!!! <pause> but only with Freddie". I knew not to push him. Yes, I am glad her boyfriend is going. They do have a baby and live an hour away so they are making a big effort to come on a Thursday night.

That is a mighty chunky baby for a newborn. Lots of hair! Noa, by spelling seems more like a girls name, wonder if this is someone else's baby? I was wondering that as well. She posted an IG pic yesterday saying "Maternity leave here I come" , but someone commented "enjoy the rest while you can...it will soon be all hands on deck" and then we get this pic....boy, that would really be a quick birth...lol

Re the question of whether certain factors affect Adam's career -
Not long ago Prism and I went to see Bon Jovi - fun show by the way - and shortly after we were talking about those before-mentioned factors when I got a little silly and snarky, and thought about how Jon BonJovi is a little short, and said maybe Adam is too tall to be a pop star! We fans must like stars of a size we can manage easily. LOL Just look at Prince, Bruno Mars, Paul Simon, Flea... from all different genres.
Anyway, we laughed about it. Later Prism decided to look up the heights of a bunch of male stars. Google said average men are 5'10" -5"11." She made a list with short (those below 5'10"), average, and tall (those above 5'11"). Tons of guys were short. Only a small group were tall.
Adam even compounds this problem by choosing to wear tall shoes. LOL
Maybe you can coax Prism into posting her list.
peace&love

When I think of drop-dead gorgeous man, I think of someone who is 6 foot and above, with a beautiful face and body (like Adam). I always thought that was the minimum height for a male model. I recently saw tweets of women flailing over Bruno Mars looks and I thought why? Sorry to all Bruno fans, but there was a picture of him with Taylor Swift and he looked super super tiny to the point of looking unnatural. I was surprised so many people thought Kris Allen was the physically desirable one over Adam. I met him and he seemed much shorter than what the internet says he is (5' 8"). I don't find Nick Jonas attractive at all, especially the face, and he's only 5' 7". Even Justin Bieber is pretty short. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

On Adam compared to the midgets of pop LOL. I think Masculanity has alot to do with it. Adam is a very feminine male. Very Flamboyant. He's gay after all. That's not a judgement, it is just Adam is well Adam. Some may have liked him on idol, loved his voice, loved his personality. But pop is dominated by stuffy middle aged executive males. I do remember Adam saying in his early 20's he sent one of the record labels a demo of his. But they told him they diddn't think he would make it. So Idol gave him a platform. But I think just think even look at other LGBT artists like Sam Smith. He is more safe. Adam is like a hurricane, some can only take him in drizzles. Me? I am a straight male. Very Straight lol. But I have loved Adam since 2009. Saw him last year on his TOH Tour, and I danced with a gay couple LOL. Am I likethat in real life? Heck no. But Adam has that way about him, if you understand my meaning. So regardless if Adam gets a ton of chart or radio hits. He is accepted universally. Adam has made a cultural impact.

No matter Adam's sexuality, he is a tall, gorgeous and sexy man. He makes a lot of women swoon to the chagrin of some straight males who scream but he is gay. So what? He leaves a lot of those straight dudes in the dust. Besides, most of the time he seems masculine to me but it does not matter anyway. Sexy is sexy. Don't find Bruno, Kris or Bieber sexy or drop-dead gorgeous or super masculine at all.
