I am also counting the days to the HB shows. I no longer live in LA but I rarely pass on the opportunity to return to LA to see Adam. Some of the best Adam concerts I have see have been in California. There are a few other concert locations that really stand out -- like NYC and Vegas -- and for QAL -- London O2 and Amsterdam. The most magical Adam concert I have ever seen, however, was far from California -- the Ste. Agathe concert in Northern Quebec. We had rain and fireworks and stars and a "fairy" visitation. And the world premiere of OOL. The only thing that could have made it more magical would have been if the Northern Lights had appeared. I am still thankful that I made a last minute decision to go to that one. Sure the HBowl will be spectacular....looking forward to living it all through those lucky enough to be there. Q3 - I can well imagine how special Ste Agathe must have been - I still watch those videos. Do you remember how long it had been since he'd performed.....and wasn't it the first time Sauli had seen him do a show? If I had to choose my top Adam/QAL live concert experiences, it would be (was going to be top 3 but has to be top 4) - QAL London New Years Eve 2014/15.....just PERFECT....never seen Adam so totally in charge and such a perfectly judged mix of AlphaMaleRockGod and BeautifulGayMan. I think that element fascinated new audiences. Gorgeous, tiny venue. Perfect seat. Best NYE ever. - QAL Isle of Wight 2016.....more 'real' and emotional than some QALs - very atmospheric with huge crowd under the night sky....and the most beautiful WWTLF, dedicated to Orlando. Goosebumps. I cried lots; will never forget. (Won't forget sleeping in that tent either)... - TOH, Manchester, England, England, 2016....I saw 8 TOHs....this show was head and shoulders the best. The audience was wild and I've never seen Adam so genuinely react and enjoy the energy it created. He was at his most natural and unforced....and clearly moved by his reception. It was, I think, the longest of his TOHs but someone here will know (and correct) this. - QAL, Las Vegas 2014.... .both shows at The Joint. What a joy to be able to see QAL in full glory in such a small venue!.... and with such a huge group of lovely, like-minded fellow Atoppers! Greatly enhanced by the free bar in the balcony..... ......you know who you are..... I unfortunately was not at either QAL NYE or Isle of Wight -- but I was lucky enough to be at the Las Vegas The Joint shows and also in Manchester. And ITA, on both. Hands down the Manchester audience was the best Queen audience I was ever part of since the very early days -- including the 1974-1979 period when things were often quite wild. It was also the concert where I got a wave/finger point from the stage from Neil which was pretty amazing because he had so many friends and family members at that concert. If I recall correctly, Neil is from Manchester? It was also my last QAL concert -- until the upcoming Phoenix concert.

Not sure if any of the mentors take an interest in their contestants after the show but Blake is constantly saying that he helps his kids and sometimes takes them on tour, but that is something he personally does! Doesn't look like the show does much. I'm kind of surprised that Christina isn't helping Alisan! She was so enthusiastic about her. Blake has worked with their artists after they have left the show. But Blake has really been committed to helping his winners and some of his other artists establish careers. Here are a few that I can think of, but I know there are more: Danielle Brandbury and Cassadee Pope (both Blake's team) are probably the most successful artists from the show. Craig Wayne Boyd (also Blake's team) is making a good living, married to a model and has a young daughter. He is not a huge success but his Voice win got him into better venues. The Colton Brothers also have been successful in Branson and Nashville -- they did not win but Blake took a real interest in their career. I am not really into country music, and I am not a "Blake fan" but I really respect him for what he has done for the artists on his team. Adam seems to make big promises on the show but I don't see much evidence that he makes any real effort after the show -- and some of my favorites were his artists. In any case, The Voice really is not American Idol -- and neither are Star Search which is still the reigning champion talent show. The list of success from Star Search is really in a class of its own.

Just a couple of months ago, I went to a David Cooke concert - which was in a small theater in the town next door, basically a renovated movie theater. There were lots of Cooke fans from all over. He was certainly energetic and his local fans *(with their clippings books) were equally energetic with the selfies. Management objected to fans standing up to dance, DC said you can't say that to my fans, with a couple of f-bombs. Management pulled him off the stage, and then when DC came back he apologized. At least management left off preventing fans from dancing. But it's hard to see Idol peeps playing small town venues. At least David Cook is playing theater-size venues. Many others have not fared as well. I think that Carrie, Kelly and Adam are the most successful artists from Idol right now. A few that were once very successful have faded (Jordin, Daugherty, Clay).

When you look at venues when David tours, it is mostly a club tour just like Kris but I think he fills them up a bit better. Daugherty is set to tour with Nickelback soon. On the last Forbes list, where Adam made 10m and #1, Daughtry came in 3rd with 6m. He has made the list every year so he is definitely doing better than Cook who has not made the list in years. I wish if they had done a list for this past year. I think Adam would have been 2 and Carrie 1.

I wonder how much Adam has stayed in contact with his contestants (isaiah, amalia, natialie)...and if we'll ever see them meeting up again some time...
...I'm also kind of surprised Adam hasn't gone to see Holly in Zoot Zoot...at least he didn't instagram/tweet/ oder snap about it...

Wow! RuPaul is not holding back. I think I get what he is saying tho. He is a LGBT entertainer and support from the straight fans is welcome and needed. But there is a fine line between support and exploitation. Respect their talent and art as the entertainment because they work hard to achieve that recognition and success. And don't go overboard with treating their gayness as your entertainment because at the end of the day it is real life for them. “So I’m a brown-skinned gay man,” he continued. “You know, I do drag. Early on, I learned that I could do it well and make money. So people automatically ask me about beauty tips. And I get kids who write me and say, ‘I wish you could do my makeup for my prom?’ Or, ‘I wish you could do my makeup for my wedding?’ I’m like, ‘Bitch, I’m not a makeup artist. I’m an enter-taint-er! OK?’”Ru also added that this idea of gay people existing in or for the service of straight people is something LGBTQ people are all too familiar with..." www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/rupaul-bachelorette-parties-gay-bars_us_58d92b01e4b03692bea7efbc?n6yz53v7v3l0izfr&"While straight, cisgender people are of course welcome in LGBTQ spaces, it’s important to be aware of what these spaces represent to those in the community and a straight person’s relationship to them." ...as Adam has already reminded us a while ago, "entitlement is not sexy".

Alisan Porter @alisanporter Not everything worked out perfectly with my "record deal" so I went back to the drawing board. My EP is written and I begin production Fri. This is just so sad. How does that show stay on? Besides Alisan, I can't name another winner. At least I can name a lot of Idol winners. The Voice is such a joke. It's all about the judges. I'm no clairvoyant or expert of any kind, but I did post a while back that I thought Alisan might have a hard time getting traction out of The Voice. First, as has been said, the show has not produced even one superstar. Some reasonably successful singers, yes. But not one big star. It's a "judge-oriented" show concentrates on the "entertainment" of the judges and not the contestants. Second, although Alisan has a lovely voice and is quite attractive, I personally did not see her as bringing anything distinctive to the table. She's just like a lot of other very good singers, IMO. Third, apparently The Voice shafts its winners by not giving them what they were led to believe in the way of a record contract. We don't know Alisan's specific case, but it sounded like they didn't deliver what they promised. I wish her well. She's a talented singer.
