For Your Entertainment album made it to 80 million streams on Spotify today! Congratulations @adamlambert! Your album #ForYourEntertainment made it to 8⃣0⃣ million streams today on @spotify! 🎉 🎧 Great! I wonder if Adam's FYE album and IIHY single could be certified platinum now if someone were inclined to do so? I guess it does not matter because he is no longer with RCA but it would sure look good, if he has achieved those milestones since he was so close.

I don't think success or non-success is all about the ratings tho it could play a part. I know it is not the US, but Isaiah has done so much better than the last four Idol winners and most of The Voice winners. His season had dismal ratings and not close to TV or Idol's worst years. But he resonated with the viewers he did have. Kris and Lee were on Idol seasons that had pretty good ratings but nobody cared. I don't think you can compare the US to Australia. That said Isaah's album was #12 in Australia, his first single was #26 in Australia. That is pretty much on par with Kris and Lee, not much better than Candice within their markets -- generally considered not successful Idol winners. And, yes, he did relatively better then the last 3 winners. >> I think many of Idol's later winners not doing will has more to do with label issues -- for example Candice should have done better. But ratings and the program's popularity level does matter. The last eight Idol winners, US chart positions, ratings from Wiki, average for performance shows. [This is the period when the ratings were dropping.] 8. Kris Allen (2009) - 5 post Idol albums - #11, #26, #88, last 2 DNC, Big singles: "No Boundaries" #11, LLYD #18, 26.77 million 9. Lee Dewyze (2010) - 4 post Idol albums - #19, DNC, #116, DNC, Biggest single: #11, 21.95 million 10. Scotty McCreery (2011) - 3 post Idol albums #1, #4, #6, Big singles: #11, 25.87 million 11. Phillip Phillips (2012) - the last really successful Idol winner - Album 1 #4, Album 2 #7, Big single #6 sold over 5 million, 19.81 million <low rating era begins, audience in demo declines dramatically -- demo is 18-49 years old> 12. Candice Glover (2013) - Album #14, Biggest single #93, 15.04 million 13. Caleb Johnson (2014) - Album #24, Singles DNC, 11.94 million 14. Nick Fradiani (2015) - Album #121, Biggest single #93, 10.31 million 15. Trent Harmon (2016) - No album/EP, Singles promoted to country stations - #27 and #28 on US Country charts, 11.52 million Note - Seasons 12-15 are about the audience size as The Voice, but less attractive demos - very old. DNC = did not chart.
The only possible explanation for "No Boundaries" selling is the exposure on Idol. It got little airplay and was barely promoted and is a terrible song, poorly performed, hastily produced. *** I do think having 35 million viewers two times a week (Idol at its prime) has an impact that is hard to replicate. There is a reason why 8 of the top 10 from AI Season 5 got major label deals -- they all had fanbases when they left Idol.

But my point was, I think he has done better than the last four Idol (I did not say the last eight) winners. Even with a low rated show Isaiah has 60m Spotify steams, Platinum single in Sweden and Gold in Australia. Trent, Nick, Caleb and Candice have no certifications anywhere tho much higher ratings and exposure to a larger audience.

(I edited my post while you were quoted me to make it clearer -- sorry for any confusion but I left the above quote as you quoted it before I edited it.) Not trying to be argumentative -- because I agree with you that Isaiah is doing really well -- and his streams of IIAGY are really impressive. But I don't think it proves anything about the importance or lack of importance of ratings on the relative success of Idol vs. The Voice. AI pre-dates streaming being in the US Charts or certifications -- which hurts the chart positions of the later season's winners. *** There are many reasons why Idol produced more successful artists vs. The Voice including the ones I listed. The effect of streaming on chart ratings is one major change.

Why are there different prices for the single blue ray disk? And are all of these only for the Blue Ray - no CD included??? So guess I have to buy a new DVD player with Blue Ray... It was time to update!
