I heard the Harry Styles single which is already at #1 on Itunes. Bowie and Queen were his inspiration. Of course there is no comparison but it is not bad. He is so young (with an average voice) that he would be forgiven if he went for the typical and overdone fluff. But he tried something with more substance so good for him for making the effort. He said Bowie and Queen were his inspiration? I can't hear the Queen influence, but maybe I don't know their stuff well enough. It sounds A LOT like Purple Rain though. But I guess he knows that, considering how he named the song (Sign of the Times).

I am not crazy about the song. It goes on too long for me. But kudos to him for trying a rock song. OFC, he could burp for 3 minutes and it'd still go #1 on iTunes and radio would play it. So, not really a risky move for him.

That is why it is refreshing that he did not follow the path of many of the kids and Divas by putting out something that will require a stage full of dancers to work. It is always painful watching Selena awkwardly surround herself with dancers. Going this route gives him at least a chance of being taken seriously after being in a boy band. He can always do remixes if he wants club play.

Our grant got a reply from Adam! twitter.com/adamlambert/status/850426095014780928ADAM LAMBERT @adamlambert Yeah totally. The chorus is very that. (And Pink Floyd) grant @grrrr_unt I see where you're coming from.. But the classic rock chorus sounds more David Bowie to me!
