those 60k right of of Idol? were those already on that Idol-summer-tour? Then it would make sense to me that the kontestents kept saying they wanted to make money on the tour^^ ...I'm leaning more towards the 250k per show, Adam is, and I think it is fair to say this without being a biased fan, part responsible for the succes of the live tours of queen...either way, it's good money ...Question of the day...is Adam naked or is he not^^...I heard leaving some things to the imagination is even hotter, more attractive, exciting? I don't remember what they paid him for the Idol Tour.....Im sure someone here remembers....but the $60,000 was for events just after it....like that Party City thing in Louisiana or that private Bday thing where the honoree was an Adam fan from New Orleans and they played a question and answer game. Anybody remember those details? I'm pretty sure the $60,000 figure was floating around back then. Seems like the Sweet 16 Bday gig was in the $200-300,000 range. We knew at the time because somebody spilled the beans. Season 8 was when the tour was paying the kids really well. I can remember, from season 5, there being some paperwork that got leaked. If I remember correctly, it was 5K/per show for the winner, 4K per show for runner up, and 3 K for 3rd. The rest of the Top 10 got 1K per show. At the time, I was an avid Taylor Hicks fan & he confirmed that the tour was around 300K for him. That was the biggest tour of all seasons. Season 8 did not have quite as many shows. There is an interview with Kris and Adam with Larry King where they say the Summer Tour was very generous.

I hope so also. I like what Harry did too. But Zayn with that getting high and party has been done to death.

I've seen this suggestion posted somewhere yesterday, but since Adam was up pretty early today might be worth repeating: Gelly @14gelly IF Adam is going to NYC today I wonder IF "surprise guests" wearefamilyfoundation.org/gala-2017

Thanks for finding and posting that Patti....what Ryan said there makes absolute perfect sense in todays music world....it is more fun for fans to, I think, to have a steady flow albeit sporadic...rather than these monumental waits for whole albums....at least, from my perspective, ymmv, imho yada yada yada

Thanks for posting this! I love One Republic, Ryan is just an unbelivably gifted songwriter. This post is so heartfelt and I understand every single reason, why they are choosing to approach the release of new songs differently now. Maybe that's the way it'll be going from now on - no more albums, just songs...

Yep, every time I see an touring artist get hammered for phoning it in on occasion or being a douche in public, this is what I am reminded they face. The flack Bieber gets, that Avicii gets, Demi, and so on, It is really amazing that more don't totally fall apart. The pace and demands are brutal and unforgiving. As to the releasing of single single songs instead of albums, that has been building for a while now. All the independent collaborations are just the tip of the iceberg. It just makes sense to release this way versus the album format. I think that opportunity of single song releases has really upped the quality and diversity of music. Lots of good stuff out there.

I haven't posted for a while, but just had to add my 2 cents here. I agree with releasing singles vs albums. I'm a child of the '50s and we had 45 rpm's (singles) that I stacked on the record player. BTW they were 2.5 min long or less instead of 3.5 min. Looking back, I liked the shorter song length. Every afternoon I played the hits one after another, I guess like people do now digitally except the songs are longer. No album filler songs then. So it was Elvis, Johnny Cash, Everly Bros, the Platters, Little Richard, etc. etc. etc.

There of course is a place for tour t-shirts but something stylish I would spend good money for. Huh, not that I don't anyway!!
