Adam's career is all a matter of perspective.... or in my view as a newish fan.... Glass half full or half empty, or you could say "are you going to drink that?" this statement is NOT meant for anyone just imho. Adam singing with Queen is a hallmark in his career. Who else in this world could do what he is doing? And he gets kudos for that. Have you noticed how often lately when a news story, press release is read Adam's name is there with the likes of Gaga? Name association with established people is, I think, very helpful in establishing his place among the stars and receives a status of fame and attention. While I do agree that lesser talent receives hit songs and tour placement, I have to wonder who will be remembered in 20 years?

Does anyone remember the Frank Sinatra song "It Was a Very Good Year"? That icon sang about being 35. When I was 35, I'd just had my fifth son (yep, this is momtomany) and my life was filled with these little boys and their dad. I thought it was enough.
Little did I know, that in a few short years, I'd be finishing college and beginning a career in the medical field. This 'next life' has carried me to today.
My children have grown and found lives and loves; I discovered Adam on a random night in 2009; and my DH is still with me, helping me grow.
We cannot judge who Adam is or who he will become. He is still at a tender age! Personally, I think that being the new 'frontman' for Queen has been a phenomenal coup. I thank Spike Edney for making sure Roger and Brian kept this great talent in their minds. Adam is fronting the greatest rock band, ever! This is no small thing! When years have gone by, and memoirs are written about the music and the memories of the late 20th century, of which Queen will be a cornerstone, I will wish to read the chapter about Adam . . . and how he truly was 'the gift from God', who gave everlasting life to the genius of Roger, Brian, Freddie, John Deacon, Spike, Neil, Pete . . . and all who worked as a glorious team.
What I don't see from Adam is a rush to the next goal. It gives him time to breathe and contemplate and plan . . . it certainly gives me time to have a life before I'm off, again, to follow this wandering star.
We have years ahead to be amazed! Whether Adam has a #1 hit, or blows me away with a song that only speaks to me; or moves to Broadway, or is part of another duo or group . . . my only wish is that he will continue to perform, create, and grow. And this wish is already true. So, what more could I (or, we) want??
I began this little message talking about Frank Sinatra. Everyone knows his name. Certainly an icon. Do you remember John Riatt? Know Mandy Patinkin? I will be having dinner in NYC in June with a high school friend who was my student director when I was the lead in 'Carousel'. He now is a musical director on Broadway . . . I saw him on stage with Bernadette Peters on the Tony Awards. You will never know the name of my childhood friend; one of the most talented people on this earth. Geniuses abound. Adam surrounds himself with excellence. 'Masses' may find a genius - it's happenstance. Great names in the arts fall away; just as the years pass. If an artist feels his or her worth is in adulation and crowds and ticket sales and #1 hits, they will find the emptiness within.
It doesn't matter! What does matter is that you and I know Adam's talent. I recognize his gift and his work ethic and his joy and his commitment to his art. He will lead me and let me in when it is right to be heard. He is my hobby, not my life. I live on the sidelines, as I experience and interpret his every move, his every style, his every comment. I'm content with what is now - - - even if I wish for fireworks and flames. Adam is the greatest talent I will ever experience in my life. I'm very fortunate and very glad I paid attention. If others don't 'get it' - - - it's their loss.
I have a question. What do you want from Adam? Do you want him to be on the cover of 'People' Magazine? Do you want him to have a #1 Billboard hit? Do you want him to appeal to everyone? Do you want him to be quiet about politics? Makeup? Clothes? Tequila? Hairstyles? tattoos?
Adam's instagram 'likes' give me a glimpse. This post should not have an 'I' in it. Because it's not about me. Not here for me. I can't wait for late June; when I'll see this man and this great band in all its glory.
Let's dance!
