I just watched the Queer Prom video, and as usual I have my opinions and thoughts...
I can certainly appreciate the significance of this event in terms of "moving forward" and "equality for all" - so of course I find it really cool that Adam supported this event. (Here's a little note in relation/comparison to Adam's own prom experience....In 2011 my gay son also went to Prom with his best female friend, as his same sex date wasn't "ready" and LGBT couples at Prom weren't a "thing" yet - he was on court btw. as an openly gay guy in his public high school. Three years later when my daughter graduated it was basically a non issue when queer couples openly celebrated Prom night. I remember when my daughter told me that things had changed for the better and that gay guys dancing together as well as lesbian couples in pant suits were highly accepted. I want to believe that this was not only a phenomenon at our local high school in the liberal Bay Area, but a real step in the right direction in general).
However, as much as I find it important that couples from the LGBTQ community should feel safe to openly celebrate Prom night, I find the Prom itself highly outdated, and here's where my European roots come through. Girls waiting impatiently for guys to ask them out while stressing over the perfect dress? What's the point of kids wearing ball gowns and tuxedos that not even all can afford? Limos etc? Isn't it just another popularity contest that only the popular kids can truly feel good about? Wouldn't a simple high school graduation be more age appropriate and simply enough? After all, it's just high school. Yes, my kids did the whole thing too - my son enjoyed it and my daughter loved it - but I felt weird throughout the process and I was worried about their safety all night.

UGGHH. I doubt that the third spot will be offered to Adam. May be Daughtry is deemed more successful as a recording artist and "safe" (aka less controversial). melliemom, I can't imagine that Adam wouldn't move heaven and earth to be a judge (unless there was a major change in his disposition). Let's see what happens...there is still a mentoring position to be filled I guess, but my level of excitement is going down right now.

UGGHH. I highly doubt that the third spot will be offered to Adam. Looks like Daughtry is deemed more successful as a recording artist and "safe" (aka less controversial).ย I agree, the minute I realized what network it is on I had a feeling it wasn't gonna happen. I'm just glad it wasn't drawn on with months of speculations and a glimer of hope.. Now we can focus on whats next for him! I cant wait! ๐๐๐
