The Pharaoh picture made me smile too - as it was exactly two days ago when I agreed with another fan that we miss Pharaoh haha. Another coincidence? May be....but I do have a feeling that Adam visits this site. Why not? He sees first hand how much we adore him and how much we care...and that includes occasional speculations and worries and disagreements. All signs that we are invested fans.

Uh oh. Spent too much on Katy. Ryan's in doubt First of all, the info in this article does not come from an "Idol insider" -- it is from Richard Rushfield who is an internet author without a real home. He started out as a low-level democratic party operative, then was a futurist, was once a LA Times.com senior editor, was a Buzzfeed for a while, etc. Most of what he writes is already known, except for the rumor-snark about how Ryan feels. **** Regarding Ryan and geography - Ryan is now in NY for his ABC show. I think if ABC thinks he's essential, they'll find the money and extras to make him happy. And there is no reason Idol can't be in NY. As far as the reports about Katy Perry boasting and making Ryan mad, etc. I don't buy it. There is no chance that Ryan didn't know what Adam Levine and Blake Shelton get paid for The Voice ($26 million a year, $13 million per season). And JLo was paid more than Ryan on Idol. MJ, the women who wrote the article knows a lot about Idol and has followed it for years. But she has not inside info on what in going on. Just commenting on Richard's post. ETA: FreemantleMedia is running the show and they are one of the biggest TV producers in the world -- including doing America's Got Talent. So that part is real nonsense. As the resident Idol expert, this article is full of BS. 1) There is no way in hell they offered Ryan a single digit million figure. They know there is NO Idol w/o Ryan. And he was making 15 million when Idol ended. Why on earth would he work for single digit millions. Fremantle is not stupid! 2) Ryan knows he will get offered 1 million over Katy's salary, whatever that is. I still doubt it is 25 million. But 25 million makes for very good PR! 3) Idol went to ABC for a reason. Ryan is on ABC. Ryan will the host of new Idol. As far as Adam goes, he "would love to do if it fits his schedule." If you remember correctly, from "old Idol", they get a lot of PR mileage out of these contract negotiations every.single.season!

I still find any categorization of Richard Rushfield as an "Idol Insider" to be laughable. Beyond laughable. {head shake and eyeroll} Idol is back with or without Ryan. I think it looks like with Ryan. I expect to see Adam involved in Idol in some way but not as a judge based on Shirley Halperin's article -- and IMO she is an Idol insider. We have 12 months of Idol rumors ahead -- so brace yourself for a lot more nonsense. Also, The Voice ratings were terrible and they are already starting with "judges drama" stories to try and keep people interested.

Yes, apparently only one Idol finale did worse that this year's Voice finale & that was Idol 14. Shirley is indeed an Idol insider. I added this to my quote in today's new thread. I think this pretty much says, that ABC is ready to do whatever it takes to make Idol BIG! Straight from the ABC Reality Exec! Can the show make money, or do you see it as a loss leader? What you can't do is come back as bargain-basement Idol. We're going to make sure the talent is right, and we'll do what we have to [do to] make it bigger and better than ever. We want to use it as an asset base to launch scripted programming, like it did on Fox. If it returns at the levels it left, it's going to do really well for us.
