Those pictures from Gray Joey book are not very appealing......... You know, enchanted, I don't think the photos from hardyzine are meant to be appealing in the mass market sense. Grayjoey is telling queer stories, the stories of people who do not fit the into neat gender, sexuality, or even size categories. The people who were photographed and interviewed want us to look at them and hear them and perhaps stretch of our sense of what is "normal". They are brave and maybe because they have been told over and over that they don't fit, they are also just a little defiant. I find the photos tasteful and thoughtful - a transwoman who perhaps chose not to undergo the final surgery, a slight delicate man who is unsure of his place in the world, and a fat black man who looks like he dreams of being a ballerina. I haven't read the interviews so I may be totally off, but that is what the photo is saying to me. I will read their stories and contemplate their reality and see if it might broaden my world.

One purchase/download does equal more streams. You are not wrong. I can't remember what the formula is though. I think it's worth around 100 streams but it could be worth just 8 or over 1000. Somewhere we have the estimated formula. Earlier in the thread pattihum said 1dl equalled 100 streams. But that does depend on for what purpose I believe. If its for the chart or certification. It also varies per country. What I do know is that GT made it to triple platinum because of streaming here in the Netherlands. Back then you needed 90,000 shipments for triple platinum and of those 90,000 about 10-15,000 were actual sales. The other 75,000 were because of streams and they equalled 7,500,000 streams. GT even made it to four times platinum under those rules here because GT went over 11,000,000 streams here easily, but they changed the rules in April 2016 so that triple platinum equalled 120,000 shipments. So Adam never got 4x platinum. I'm also guessing that based on those streams TOH album probably went gold here in the Netherlands, but we never got to see that certification. My knowledge of DLs and stream equivalents is only for the US. i don't know anything about any other countries. Our radio charts are spins only, DLs, sales, etc. are not a part of it. However, if a song is doing really well in sales, streams, or Shazams, it will influence how much stations will spin that song. Stations will definitely notice high streaming and Shazam numbers. Another reason why streaming can help a song! Billboard Hot 100 chart does use sales and streaming in their formula. And OFC, the RIAA certifications for Gold and Platinum also use streaming now.

so great to learn all this @pattihum and skaschep ...Adam is in Queen-college and I'm in Adamtopia-college I thought one DL equaled more streams...and as said I'm only learning of the importance of the streams, so when A4 will come around (patience, patience, patience ) I'll make sure to do my part! Somewhere we have the estimated formula. It's not an estimated formula, it is exact. (Except for You Tube which refuses to reveal their formula!) 1500 Streams = one album sale 100 Streams = one single sale 10 tracks DLed = one album sale

hardyzine: I'm so proud of this portrait of incredible LGBTQ folks from the upcoming issue of HARDY. Taken by @eastonschirra, May 27, 2017 at @cherrysodastudios in LA, edited by @mxrunko. Vol. 2 "We Are Family" is coming soon! I also think it's total bullshit that femme nipples are still being censored, so I decided to cover ALL the nipples in this portrait to show solidarity. #freethenipple From left: @rogue_geo @mxrunko @grayjoey @bebehuxley @adamlambert @johnchandlerofficial @travesty_in_la @loveisbailey @tim_wollaston @jbghumanjr @dexrated www.instagram.com/p/BU-yDZSBNNL/
