West Bus Tour
Portland, OR – August 17 Oakland, CA – August 20 Provo, UT – August 23 Denver, CO – August 26 Omaha, NE – August 29 Tulsa, OK – September 1 Shreveport, LA – September 4 Muscle Shoals, AL – September 7 East Bus Tour
Orlando, FL – August 17 Miami, FL – August 19 Atlanta, GA – August 22 Charleston, SC – August 25 Asheville, NC – August 27 Louisville, KY – August 30 Pittsburgh, PA – September 3 Annapolis, MD – September 5 Boston, MA – September 8 Open Audition Cities
Chicago, IL – September 11 New Orleans, LA – September 14 (Locations and dates subject to change.) This city selection is weird, to say the least. They spend time in Provo, Utah and have two stops in Louisiana, but absolutely nothing in the whole NY area or the 50 million people who live in that region: Nothing in NY, CT, NJ, DE, PHL, area. In fact just that one stop in Boston, that is it for the North East. And all of MI, OH, PA, IN, will all have to pick between Pittsburgh and Louisville, I suppose. And skipping the whole state of TX also seems kind of a bit odd. Reminds of Thelma and Louise. You want to go from Oklahoma to Mexico without going through Texas? I realize that idol is a Midwest/South kind of show, but I did not expect ABC to make this quite so apparent from the get-go. Anyhow, we shall see, what else ABC will do to that show as things progress, and whether I or many others around here have any reason to particularly care. Loved those black and white pictures today. Thanks for posting them, as well as all the Pride info.

www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1spupb1By @marisa_965 I've made a transcription of the @adamlambert speech at #ResistMarch. This is so beautiful and inspiring. LOVE “My name is Adam Lambert and I am proud to be a human. I’m also gay, cisgendered, redheaded, jewish and a man, but that’s getting specific. Look, we have moved into an area of intense categorizing, in an effort to declare our identities. We use labels in order to help others understand who we are and how we live. And sometimes we need them to figure ourselves out too, because we want to take pride in our individuality. But do you sometimes feel that we’ve gotten a little carried away with all these labels? Cause at the end of the day we’re all human beings. I mean, wouldn’t you rather identify somebody by their name and their energy instead of their sexual preference, their race, their gender, their age or their religion? If we could do that, wouldn’t that be more rewarding and allow for deeper connection? Now I know that’s being very idealistic. It’s wishful thinking and sadly this is not the reality of the world we live in, especially lately. I typically avoid publicly speaking about politics because of its divisiviness. People get really sensitive and I’m not trying to piss anybody off. But this year things have gone way too far. So I’m not speaking today about being a democrat vs. a republican. Today it’s about right vs. wrong. The current presidential administration has manipulated the country, using fear and hate to gain power, to divide us. Our differences are being used against us. And the shock waves of this dangerous reality have rippled throughout our community and beyond. And it fucking hurts. We’ve come way too far to stand by and watch our social progress be yanked backwards. You know, it’s almost like they’re going: ‘Nah! You’re different! You can’t sit with us.’ What the fuck is that? It’s childish and it needs to end now. Our pride parade is usually an all-out shit show of a party where we’re all dressed up like crazy unicorns and prance around through the streets. Yeah, it’s a celebration of the progress we have made. Our liberation. Our freedom. Our glitter. But this year we are facing such dark forces that Pride has taken a deeper purpose: protest. So today we stand together in order to support anyone whose human rights are at risk. We resist homophobia. We resist transphobia. We resist misogyny. Bi-invisibility. We resist racism. Xenophobia. And we resist extremism. And anything else that helps promote hate. We stand defined and we’ll not be brainwashed. We refused to be sucked into that kind of negativity. But I ask you not to fight hate with hate. We don’t want to be hypocrites. So how can we resist? I’ll tell you what I think. With unity. With visibility. Truth. Inclusion. Acceptance. And most importantly LOVE. Look, we’ve got a lot of work to do and a lot of ignorance to combat. But we know right from wrong. We know that we are stronger together than we are divided. So take some time today and connect with someone different from you. Recognize another human being. We all deserve to love and be loved. And that goes for all of us within the queer community, within this country and on this planet. After all, the only way our rainbow is a motherfucking rainbow is with all the colors shining equally. Thank you.” Anyone know what he meant by "Bi-invisibility"? I didn't understand that part.

Jablea I wondered about that part as well...my guess was that it means that bisexuality is dubed as a non issue and/or not very much talked about...

Thanks for posting them, as well as all the Pride info. Not that odd, IMO. These are the cattle call auditions. They usually hit cities like this. Auditioneers have always traveled to wherever it takes to get an audition. Some even to several cities, if they are turned down. The only really difference here is that the bus tour is going to sooooooooo many cities. Here is Season 15's Bus Tour:
The American Idol "Audition Bus Tour" visited Seattle, Washington; Providence, Rhode Island; Baltimore, Maryland; San Diego, California; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Tucson, Arizona; Indianapolis, Indiana; Santa Fe, New Mexico; Athens, Georgia; Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Oxford, Mississippi, Wilmington, North Carolina.
I am sure the judges' auditions, the ones we actually see, will be in big cities. I am thinking though, to save time, they might do all the judges' auditions in one location. Perhaps all in NYC or LA? If judges auditions are in Feb (which seems likely) that will only give them 2-3 weeks to get the editing and "highlight" packages done, as opposed to 2-3 months as usual. So, staying in one place and not traveling makes sense to me.
