Setlist
Graciejane, thank you!! Lot's of new songs - YAY - but still all my favorites. I was worried about Under Pressure. Not surprised to see 'The Show Must Go On" missing. I really like it, but I think it's a lot for Adam with WWTLF in the show and I would REALLY miss that one. How long is the guitar solo this year? Is it the same as before or did he change it up?
I am on my phone and cannot see who I a m quoting (sorry). *Possible spoiler I believe Brian's solo to be about the same length, they did change up the order a little and I like it better. It will sound very disloyal to the queen fans I am afraid, but the guitar solo was always my least favorite Part of the show. I love Brian and Roger, and I found the drum battle entertaining but the guitar did nothing for me. BUT this year with the new staging and I won't say exactly what happened but I was all OMG. It was great and for the first time I really enjoyed the guitar solo. So great job by all, they won me over.

What beast of a song - Wow Brian wrote a killer here.
It's Late Queen
You say you love me And I hardly know your name And if I say I love you in the candle light There's no-one but myself to blame But there's something inside That's turning my mind away Woh - how I could love you If I could let you stay
It's late - and I'm bleeding deep inside It's late - ooh, is it just my sickly pride? Too late - even now the feeling seems to steal away So late - though I'm crying I can't help but hear you say It's late - It's late - It's late But not too late
Mmm, yeah The way you love me Is the sweetest love around But after all this time The more I'm trying The more I seem to let you down, yes Now you tell me you're leaving And I just can't believe it's true Oh, you know that I can love you Though I know I can't be true Oh, you made me love you Don't tell me that we're through
It's late - mmm, and it's driving me so mad It's late - yes I know, but don't try and tell me that it's Too late - save our love you can't turn out the light So late - I've been wrong but I'll learn to be right It's late - It's late - It's late But not too late
Mm, I've been so long You've been so long We've been so long tryin' to work it out I ain't got long You ain't got long We've gotta know what this life's all about, ooh Tell me Tryin' to work it out, yeah, ooh Ooh too late, yeah, too late, much too late, aaah
You're staring at me With suspicion in your eye You say what game are you playing? What's this that you're saying? I know that I can't reply If I take you tonight Is it making my life a lie? Oh you make me wonder Did I live my life right?
It's late - ooh, but it's time to set me free It's late - ooh, yes I know, but there's no way it has to be Too late - so let the fire take our bodies this night So late - let the waters take our guilt in the tide It's late - It's late - It's late - It's late It's late - It's late - It's late Oh, It's all too late
Woah, woah, c'mon Ooh m m m m late too late oh yeah Waaa Songwriters: Brian May It's Late lyrics © EMI Music Publishing, Sony/ATV Music Publishing LLC

So, I was at the Phoenix show Friday night and then yesterday, I had to go to a Toastmasters workshop for regional club officers, attended by several hundred people. I was still feeling the glow from the concert (how could I not?), so I wore the QAL shirt I'd bought at the merch stand. Well, dozens of people stopped me, grabbed my shirt and cried, "Did you see the show last night? How was it? HOW WAS ADAM? ISN'T HE BRILLIANT?" Even guys who said they were longtime fans, after asking which songs they played, launched into rhapsodizing about how incredible a singer Adam is. Not a word about Brian or Roger! Same thing on Friday as we all were leaving the arena; even the most hardcore Queen fans adored the show and B&R but kept raving about Adam, Adam, Adam. Our Adam's legend seems to be growing larger by the minute... Much of what I'd want to say about the concert has already been said by others. But IMHO it is the best QAL show yet - they may never be able to top this. If the guys were that spectacular on opening night, I can only imagine that by the time the tour reaches its stride the show will be otherworldly. I was so proud of Adam because this was the 5th time I've seen him live, but the first time I've ever seen him in total control of the stage and the crowd, really mastering both. People always reminisce about how Freddie commanded audiences and held them spellbound like no one else, and though I'd agree with them, I think Adam's getting to that level too. I like the updated set list, and completely relate to I'm in Love with My Car since I just bought my first brand new car in years. But I do miss 39 - I adore Dr. May and always loved the patter that went with the song. side comment: Someone yesterday, commenting on Adam's fuchsia suit for Killer Queen, asked "Who else would or could wear that?" Well, when he came out on stage in it, my first thought was, "Why is Adam dressed like Prince?!"i love that his tour clothes by and large are also his every day clothes. I am loving this show. The outfits are great. Love the all black (with the heels that are sexy) when he sings Its Late (which was wonderful.) There is the appropriate amount of camp in the show along with the rock and roll, sexy and theatrics. I never thought he would go so OTT that it was more underground and not a Queen show. He is a professional. Favorite outfits, the all black, the red pants with the black leather jacket, the all silver and the all red. The production is fantastic. Brian, Roger, Adam and the whole team are putting everything into their performances.
