I was at Nashville too!! My one and only show and was thrilled to have great seats - Row 6, Section 1, Aisle -- right next to the catwalk. I was about 1/2 way down the catwalk right where Adam and everyone seemed to stop for photo ops and stuff like that. I was so afraid that Seat 1 would mean all the way over on the other side of aisle six and didn't want to look beforehand. Also considered checking on an upgrade the day of the show but just decided to let things be and glad I did. Yeah, we all know the music was great and the sets were wonderful and his clothes were fantastic. The feel was a little different for me - Adam wasn't trying to "prove" himself any longer. He had full command and sang his heart out - I thought for the end of a tour he still had tons of stamina and just so impressed (as always) with his stage presence and enthusiasm and, of course, THE VOICE. It's obvious that he takes great care of his instrument. My seats were such that the sound was odd at times -- it was hard to make out some of the spoken parts -- those giant speakers that they have hanging from the ceiling were directly overhead so I didn't have sound coming right at me. I've never been impressed with the sound at large sports venues and think that Queen does better then most with managing it. OMG the bass parts reverbed through my chest!
So the most fun I had was talking to two different "groups" that were there. One was a local girl who was just about to turn 21. This was the first time ever that she was seeing Adam. She had voted for him a ridiculous amt of times on AI but her mother would not let her go to any of his tours because of her age and the content. So, she said as soon as she was able to afford her own ticket she was going! Paid $700. for that seat in front of me....and she didn't care. We were right on the barricade and I so happy for her. She had gotten a autograph from Adam when she ran into him on the street in Nashville about 3 years ago. She had the signature tattooed. She also said that she walked up to him and introduced herself (yes, she was stalking him -- knew he was in town) and he asked her name and they talked for a minute or so. So sweet, right? Anyways, it so much fun laughing and crying along with her. I was so happy for her!
The second group was a daughter, mother, and grandfather from London. They had seen Adam and Queen at Hammersmith...the GF was, of course, an original fan. What was fun about them was that they knew all the "British" stuff fans do at the concerts in England. The GF was so involved with the clapping and stomping and yelling. Actually there were a number of Brits over on my side and one of the men up front (older) had some moves about him and was so in love with Brian. It was just so much fun to watch everyone celebrate.
For me, I just love Adam so much. I cherish any time I get to watch him up close. It's still surreal. I try to soak in every nuance but always it's never enough. Last night he was so many things......of course, engaging but also silly, expressive, giddy, emotional, strong, fluid.....
Hey, I gotta say the drummer with Roger was GREAT - loved the solo and also liked Brian's solo way better then the first tour. Not as many whale sounds - that man has full command - thank you, Doctor! (Such a geek though - lol)
My DH was with me - he had originally introduced me to Queen 30 + years ago. Loves Adam (most of the time). It was funny that he commented that it would have been enough for him to see the montage of Freddie during "Love of my Life" but by the end of the show during BR that it surprised him that they showed Freddie again. I thought that was a little weird because that music video is so iconic but, he said it.
The arena was full and everyone was up on their feet. I was to happy to see that. Everything started churning about the 4th song in.....as usual.
LASERS WERE GREAT!
I'll take the couch any day over the robot head....j/s.....for KQ.
And, although the bicycle made me LOL he should have done a wheelie.
