SophieB Thanks for bringing these videos here! I absolutely agree on the points you're making about each example. (and @pattihum and @graciejane who also joined the discussion) I take vocal lessons myself (they're always such a rush of adrenaline I'm pretty sure I'm addicted lol) so I hear more and more in a singing voice as I go along. That last high "oooouuur today" by Kelly...it didn't necessarily sound forced but that it wasn't easy for her to reach. Has cassie seen this? I had to smile at myself when I was waiting for that loooong "ecstasyyyyyy" Adam does^^ Do you guys really think "quality of life" is meant mostly in a financial way? I recall Adam saying something along the lines that Queen got him through a rough time (probably era 2) when he wasn't sure if people were into what he was doing and that he was reminded by them to keep the joy of performing in the forefront and not let the monetary aspect take overhand. Does anyone remember exactly which interview it was? I can imagine that like what I've learned about the art of music through Adam and taking guitar and vocal lessons myself has enhanced my appreciation of music ,what Adam is learning from Roger and Brian has enhanced his love for the craft... P.S. I know I'm late to the convo

Yup, I saw it. I thought that splitting up the melody lines between a male and female for WWTLF was a smart solution to the range challenge of the song. Not many tenors can reach the top notes in the original key. I checked on line and covers are usually sung by women. Not only is it more in a woman's range, but it lends itself to floating, lyric interpretations. Adam, of course, DOES have the range for it. He also combines the lyrical floating rendition with a full on power ballad.
As for Alfie Boe, I absolutely love his rendition of "Bring Him Home." I really enjoy his Broadway songs in general. Not as crazy about him belting, and don't care for his Queen songs. The tone just doesn't work for me, especially after hearing Adam's versions with his warmer, rounder tone, ease of singing, and less operatic sound. When Alfie sings above about a G4, his full voice sounds more brittle, cold and piercing to me. His low register is yummy, but that top part of his range sounds forced. Adam has spoiled me, I am afraid.

Marion, I think "quality if life" means many things. Money, ofc. But mostly peace of mind, comfort, confidence, artistic freedom, among other things.
