When Taylor releases it is almost impossible for anyone else to get any traction. As soon as one song leaves the number one spot she is right there with another to take it's place. Also with her high streaming numbers every single that she released blocked someone from a higher chart position with their album for months. It will be all Taylor for a long time now. BTW, we know Adam is no longer with Edge or with his publishing company. Do we know if he is with anyone else or does it matter when he does release something? Also does he have a producer for this era? If it matters, who would help secure him these deals, DMG or Warner? He has been saying he is going more glamrock/alt etc. and a change is good, imo. If he has support I think it would be well received. Hate to say it but that "Madam" ruins it for me. I know many love it so am only speaking for myself. So sick of Taylor already---I have a 10 year old daughter who will love everything she releases :( In terms of Adam, it is all a bit of a mystery. I just have a weird vibe that he is in some sort of transition. I am really not expecting any big name producers this time---just a feeling. Hopefully we will get a little news, but it just feels like he is a bit "on his own" in terms of creating new music. Taylor Swift is why I disagree with Adam's statement, "There's room for everyone." Truth is, there ISN'T room for everyone on the charts at any given time. The competition is fierce. The " top stars of the day" swallow up the airplay and the streaming room, etc. etc. It's Taylor Swift's "time" right now. Everyone else just has to ride it out until they can squeeze themselves in. I don't dislike her. I'm just not interested in her. I watch and listen to Adam's masterful talent, blowing just about everyone else away in the talent department. But as Adam himself has said, "It's not about the voice." Stardom in the music business comes with the perfect combination of songs, personality, timing, demographics, luck. Singing skill is not always the most important thing. I love plenty of successful singers who don't sing all that well. But they touch something in me that I really relate to. BTW, I glad to be back here! Been out of town for a week, checking Atop each day on my phone. For some reason, I cannot post on this site from my phone. Don't know why, just can't. Anyone else have this problem? Anyway, glad to be sharing here again!

Taylor's a great song writer. I'm not sure I like her new single though. Not sure if it's Taylor or Kesha Circa 2010. I just felt like Taylor was shouting at me. What did I do lol.
I don't think Adam can't get that level of success because of his massive talent. I just think he has lacked the right combination of right single choice, luck, and timing. From what Adam has said about A4. Seems like he is experimenting a lot more. And he is in some transitional phase. I do believe theirs still room for everyone on the charts. Since 2010 theirs been a range of artists on the charts. Adam get a a hit single. Then he can experiment a bit more.

So glad to hear from you! The pictures on the news are devastating. You may be stuck in your neighborhood for a while. Hope the pantry is stocked and your power stays on. I have a cousin who lives close to Houston. Their home is intact, but the flooding and rain around them is terrible. My cousin's wife has temporarily moved to their daughter's home, away from the flooding. My cousin is able to stay at the their house so he can keep an eye on things and help out where needed. It's a real mess down there. I have a sister and brother-in-law who live in Houston, near the Galleria area. They have e-mailed us that they are safe and dry, but have moved to their local shelter. Don't know if their house is still OK. My other sister and brother-in-law live in South Carolina, and were evacuated for a week last fall during Hurricane Matthew, and their house was fine when they returned. It is so heart-wrenching when close family is in the midst of such a disaster! I was evacuated for 10 days due to a horrendous forest fire close to my Colorado home five years ago, and I know the horrible angst when you don't know if your house is OK. But thankfully, my sis and her husband are safe, and that is the most important thing. Hoping all Adamtopians in the Texas coast areas are safe also!!!

It's also hard for an American out gay artist .There are only a handful of new openly gay artists who are on top ,Adam being one of them. I believe the others are from England ,Australia,etc...The music business is totally hard for most ,but being different makes it even harder... IMHO ,Adam's three albums are great with some songs to die for... so many songs were not heard by the masses..I find it heart breaking. Just watched Pink On VHM who made a point of saluting artists who were androgynous , like Bowie ,Mercury, Prince ,etc.. I was waiting for her to mention Adam.Talked about How her daughter felt unpretty because she feels like she looks like a boy.. Pink said one should never change for others, even if they are teased for being different... ..Her message was about acceptance . IMO,Pink was fantastic ,her performance stole the show.

America do,love their British artists. Sam Smith for one. I remember boy George saying if Adam was British he would be bigger. I think though despite not getting the same opportunities. Or commercial success. Adams carving out his own unique path. And one day we'll get his long over due recognition. Looking forward to,his album in any case.

If Adam was a Brit, he would have much wider acceptance, IMO. And I also think that being British is somehow "cooler" than being American, and that fact transcends the gay thing. But Adam is American and he has to create his own path as an American artist. Despite his defining himself as a "strong C-list" celebrity, Adam has worked hard to maintain a fairly good public profile. He manages to get invited to things. He does his share of red carpets. Of course, Queen has raised his profile immensely. He knows how valuable that is. And I agree with melliemom. An out American gay artist has a harder time of it, even if their songs are very good. I guess it's still hard for some people to admit that they even like a gay singer, let alone buy their music or go to their concerts. We've still got a long way to go in the acceptance department.
