Just an observation, and I have seen it more than once: In many situations, we have rightly pointed out that Adam (35) is a grown man who can make his own decisions, etc... Then, a few times, I have seen people say "the boys", usually in the context of a social situation. This jars me. But I realize this is a huge forum, and we have people from all over. So is this a cultural thing? I know that can matter a lot; I just genuinely want to know--no criticism of anyone. Also, I agree with everyone who says that Ferrari needs to be driven more!
And Bamafan: Roll Tide !! It

And Bamafan: Roll Tide !! It Stupid but silly little story about "roll tide!" - A few years ago my dh bought me an Alabama hat because it had Adam's Glam Nation "A" on the front. He bought one for himself also cuz they are actually really nice hats. So, he's at some store and he's wearing it and a guy comes up to him and exclaims "ROLL TIDE!!" -- my dh didn't know what the heck was going on. He looked at the guy quizzically and didn't really know what to say - and the guy was looking at my dh waiting for him to like high five him or something. It continues to crack us up cuz we look at the hats and think of Adam and that's just not the case for everyone. ROLL TIDE!!

Everytime I see that capital letter A symbol...I think of Adam's A from GNT too. lol And when I write my address and put the AL down for the state I think of Adam Lambert. And, since my last name is Adams...well....lol...it's a cosmic connection. :D

That's a hilarious story of how differently we interpret things based on our background! And in Alabama, the two arch-rivals both start with "A", so if you'd driven further south and bought a hat with an "A" on it (it would be blue and orange rather than red and white"), you would have definitely received a ribbing for having on the wrong or loser team if you drove back to where you got the original cap. And closer to the meet-up, Bamafan can tell you how vicious things can get. Dr. Bri would be as heart-broken as many when some very old and beautiful trees were poisoned and later died when a rival fan decided it would be a "good" trick to play. Maybe it should be optional that any team cap stand for the team or Adam! The bling ones would be especially popular.

By the way, has anyone heard from lulu1265? Any updates on her situation in Beaumont? Hi Seoulmate! Still watching the after effects of hurricane Harvey and the destruction in my area, I finally left my house for the first time in over a week yesterday. I was surprised and dismayed to see that people on the end of my street actually got water in their houses. They had carpeting pulled out to the curb. My stepmother finally made it to her home today. She ended up having 16 inches of water throughout her house. People from her church came today and pulled all of the wet flooring out. I'm not sure if they were able to start tearing out the sheetrock yet. My mom and stepdad made it to Lake Charles, Louisiana, but are now stuck there because the water has risen over IH-10 and will keep them from returning to Texas until it recedes. Reports are saying the water may not start receding until Thursday!!! It is such a mess. I was able to get to a store today and actually find a loaf of bread. I got off too late before the storm and everything was wiped out then. HEB, a local grocery chain, has been great and they had supplies today. They were rationing bread, milk, and eggs so that more people could get some. It's just surreal what is happening here. I've lived in this area my entire life and have never seen water like this before. My office texted me last night that we are going to open Tuesday even though Beaumont still has no water supply. They have a temporary setup that is working off and on, but the water has not receded enough to repair the pumps yet. I've heard it may take up to 2 weeks to fix everything. I'm not worried about drinking water at work so much as I'm worried about working toilets!!! Some places have brought in Port-a-Potties, but I can't stand those stinky things. I'm thinking I will drink very little until I get home where I have a working toilet! I'll try to keep some updates coming as I hear more. One thing I do want to say is please do NOT donate to the Red Cross. This morning another relief group showed up at our small local airport. They have been flying evacuees from this area in transport planes to Dallas and San Antonio. This group showed up with 400 hot hamburgers, clothing and blankets. The Red Cross stopped them and told them they would take the items to their warehouse and distribute them later. They said the evacuees had already been fed. In reality, the evacuees had each been given 1 sandwich in the previous 24 hours. Some of them did not even have shoes on when they were rescued. Finally, some of the men argued with the Red Cross officials and insisted that they give out the hamburgers and other things people needed. I know from experience with 2 previous hurricanes that the Red Cross did not help very many people. The only help I ever received was from FEMA and local church groups. My ex-husband is a ham radio operator and used to help the Red Cross during hurricanes. He did a lot with them during hurricane Katrina when our area housed a lot of evacuees from New Orleans. I talked to him today and he said he quit working with the Red Cross 2 years ago because of the way they handle things and not really helping on the front lines so to speak. I would recommend the Salvation Army, they have personally helped me out quite a bit before and other church based groups are great during the rebuilding period. Everyone just keep the whole Texas gulf coast in your prayers, it is not just Houston, but all along the gulf coast of Texas. Many of the smaller towns down here have been all but forgotten and they need as much help as anyone else. It will be a very long road to recovery or any semblance of normal down here.
