Okay, excuse me while I go and slit my wrists now. I guess morose songs pay well for Sam. Interesting, tho'. The delivery is full of whine, but I don't FEEL any genuine emotion listening to it. Frankly, he never has had much real emotion in any of his music imo. It is the going all over the place wth his voice that, for whatever reason, appeals to people. This song is on formula for what has been successful for him in the past. I expect it to do very well.

I wonder if lots of the appeal of Adam's 'Running' is Adam's deeper notes...
They are becoming more 'usual' now as his voice matures - but then, it was a gorgeous shock to hear that sound, So rich and raw and sexy. I think Adam underestimates the appeal of that part of his voice - chasing the pop music dream....where pop music seems to be about singing as lightly and as high as you can, these days..... denying the quality of a voice such as Adam's. You only have to watch shows like the Voice where as soon as a male singer hits the high notes, they go 'wow' and press. Adam can and will do what he wants, of course....etc etc...but the One More Try vibe feels to me, so perfect for where he and his voice are now..... Edit: sorry, posted in wrong place....was reading Running discussion couple of threads ago. But I'll leave a) because it's quiet here and. b) because I don't know how to transfer it . For me, Runnin' is one of Adam's sexiest songs because his velvety lower register slays! It falls into the same category for me as Chokehold. I think I prefer the more sensual, grounded vibes over the high power vocals.

Cassie, you are so right. I wondered what was missing/wrong and you nailed it.

Where are y'all hearing Sam's new song? It blew past Kelly Clarkson's new release and went straight to #1 on Itunes.

Maybe inspired by, but more likely coincidence. Not plagiarism. The melody line is different, the harmonies different. Adam's sounds much darker, too. I don't think the two songs are close enough to be a legal issue. The "runnin'" chorus has the same type of surge to it. Adam's Runnin' has such magnificent, rich vocals. I love that song. It shoulda been a single. BTW, I think a male singing perfume ad would be a stroke of genius. A LAMBERT genius, to be specific. The Runnin' they used for this add is Beyonce's Runnin'. Interestingly spelled the same. It was quite a hit last year: www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJSik6ejkr0

Adam is sooo nice to always push other singers songs... Hope someday they will respond in kind.. He's so nice, it almost hurts.
