Where are y'all hearing Sam's new song? It blew past Kelly Clarkson's new release and went straight to #1 on Itunes. Sam is #4 on my ITUNES Kelly is #8 .. Guess who holds 1 and 2 yup Taylor.. I like Sam's voice but his songs, like Adele's songs depress me. He did hit #1 but no surprise he could not keep Taylor back for long. Always better to release when Taylor is not taking up all the air for months and months and months. I like some of Sam's songs but never moved by them. Hated Writing on the Wall. Will be interesting to see if radio will be as open to him as before.

US: kworb.net/pop/UK: kworb.net/popuk/I'm glad my country doesn't go with the hype of both Taylor and Sam. We got U2 at #1!

I'm just not moved by him. Of course, his songs reach #1. People know what to expect from him and they lap it up. Just like with Taylor. The fact that Sam is gay is irrelevant in his case. Is it irrelevant in Adam's case? Frankly I don't think so. It does matter to people, IMO. I want so much for Adam to get a big hit. I get weary of some singers zooming to #1 time after time, even with songs that are just ok. But they have created a formula that works for them, and more power to them. Adam's voice and personality are so engaging and warm. I wish I could perform some kind of magic to make it all happen. He puts out great songs that are magnificently sung and still struggles to break through.

It's at number one on iTunes now, video over 1.5 million already, trending #1...the streaming numbers are going to huge. interesting still number 4 on my ITUNES and BTW .. I like Sam I just don't care for this song.. I'm sure it will be a major hit .. I'm always happy to see a gay singer climb the charts.. It opens the door for more talented LGBTQ artists. Adam is an uber talented LGBTQ artist. I just want him to have whatever it is that makes Sam's songs go straight to the top. Once listeners accept a MAJOR song and get it to the top, fans will often stick with that artist song after song after song. Adam has had a few moderate hits, but not big enough to sustain him song after song. I don't find Adam hard to like. Quite the opposite. Somehow, the door has to burst open bigtime. It all boils down to "that song" that a large number of people connect with. AND that song has to be sung by someone they are willing to accept.
