Lilybop lilybop2010 🎼 ASCAP runs a Song Camp at Château Marouatte. Adam followed musicians who are there now, and two of Adam's collaborators are there, too. That is really interesting. And yes, it is happening now. Here is some info from last year's camp. Sometimes, inspiration hits in the middle of nowhere… other times, it needs a little hand. That’s why ASCAP has made the incredible Château Marouatte a creative oasis for some of its top songwriters once a year. Owned by famed music industry executive Miles Copeland, founder of IRS Records, the Château is a 14th century castle in the Dordogne region of Perigord, France, that has now been host to six ASCAP Song Camps.
From September 20 - 28, ASCAP brought a select group of songwriters together in this peaceful, majestic setting. They broke down into small teams and met, round robin style, to write, record and produce new songs every day. At the end of the week, each writer had a minimum of 6 professional-grade demos for consideration of the attending artists' upcoming records, or even to pitch to other artists.
This year’s ASCAP Song Camp writers spanned genres and several countries and included: Louis Baker, Andrew Cedar, Joy Crookes, DallasK, Deputy, Chris DeStefano, Morgan Evans, Rachel Furner, Alex Hope, Brett James, James TW, Noah Kahan, Stephen Kozmeniuk, Audra Mae, Brett McLaughlin, Grace Mitchell, Poo Bear and Emily Warren.
The Château Marouatte Song Camp in 2012 produced "Somethin' Bad," a #1 country hit for Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood, written by Chris DeStefano, Brett James and Priscilla Renea. The song was recently selected as the theme for NBC Sunday Night Football for the next three years. Many other songs from the camp have been cut by numerous recording artists:
“Show Me What You Got” (Dylan Gardner, Brett James, Matt Radosevic, 2015), “The Way it Goes” (Dylan Gardner, Jackson Morgan, Rory Andrew, 2015) and “I Want It Like That,” (Dylan Gardner, Ashley Gorley, Scott Effman, 2015), recorded by Dylan Gardner for his upcoming Warner Bros. release
“Two Different Things” (Ashley Gorley, Matt Rad, 2015) and “Confessional” (Ashley Gorley, Rory Andrew, 2015) recorded by Cousin Marnie for her upcoming debut on Epic
"Sheri" (Giovanni James, Sharon Vaughn, Brian Kennedy, 2014) released by Giovanni James as a single earlier this year
"Love Song To The World" (Peter Wade, Brett James, Giovanni James, 2014) was cut by Australian artist Clairy Browne (Vanguard Records)
"Had a Few," "Good For You,” "A Taken Man" - confirmed for Ashley Campbell's upcoming record (Written with Mike Daly & Chris DeStefano, Autumn Rowe & Brian Kennedy, John Fortis & Sharon Vaughn, respectively in 2014)
"Take You High" - recorded by Kelly Clarkson on Piece by Piece (Written by MoZella / Jesse Shatkin in 2013)
"All Day Everyday" - recorded by Eden XO for her upcoming record (Written by Eden XO, Jesse Shatkin and MoZella, 2013)
"Carry Your Throne" - recorded by Jon Bellion for Definition (Written by Jon Bellion and Chris DeStefano in 2013)
"In My City" - recorded by Ellie Goulding on the deluxe edition of Halcyon (Written by Billboard, Ellie Goulding, Talay Riley in 2011)
"Step With Me" - recorded by Mika on The Origin of Love (Written by Billboard, Hillary Lindsey, Mika in 2011)
"Should've Gone to Bed" - first single from Plain White T's Should’ve Gone to Bed EP (Written by Julian Emery, Tom Higgenson, Hillary Lindsey in 2012)
"Heartbreak Heard Around the World" - Jacob Latimore’s first single (Written by Johntá Austin, Martin Johnson, Shea Taylor in 2011)
Sponsors Taylor Guitars, PRS Guitars and Sonodyne generously donated gear used throughout the retreat.

In past years, ASCAP has released info about the camps after the event is over. Hopefully, we will get some info about this year's camp. BUT MORE IMPORTANT - Does this mean Adam is still writing A4??? Or is this just for future releases?
Or since "albums" are pretty much dead, and songwriting and recording are becoming more continuous processes, is Adam going to shift to a non-album release model?
I have been in a "tunnel" for the past couple of months -- moving and tackling a vastly different job -- has he confirmed what he is doing.

When did Adam ever say that his #1 priority was being in Queen and his own career comes second?? If true, that's really disappointing. I think people need to chill---looks like new music will be next year. It's already October. Although he may release a song... I think the"queen priority" came out of the post by someone here(sorry I can't remember the name) who has a friend at WBR....who said they love Adam and support him, but queen is "huge" now ..or something like that...which inferred Queen to be a priority.... I believe that was a bit of a misinterpretation of what is going on. Adam (as far as I know) has consistently said that his solo career and Queen were side-by-side or similar things to say they are equal. >> I have no idea where the comment came from but very few people at WBR would actually know anything about what Adam's solo plans are. This is really, really tightly held info -- as much about Adam's future plans have always been. But I have learned often when we think there is no plan, he not only has a detailed plan but is working on it quietly. It appears Adam has split his calendar into Queen periods and Adam solo periods (with a few mini-breaks here and there). In Q4 2017 he has a big Queen commitment - the EU/UK Tour and that is probably precludes any real work on WBR solo projects. He will almost certainly take a holiday break at the end of the year. (after the tour ends) We might get another song/track this Fall but seems pretty clear there is no time to release an album (if that is what he is planning) and promote it until 2018. I still think we could get tracks + an EP and then an album. But whatever it is, my guess is 2018. I want really, really great music -- and I can wait for it. Careers have been destroyed by pushing out not-quite-ready music. This is Adam's 4th album and it really feels like this is his time. Not sure way, it just seems like he has changed a lot in the past couple of years -- and Queen (particularly Roger and Brian) are a large part of that growth process.

Wow, I love it when the Glambert ninjas do their thing and are right!
As for new music -- I've figured out it arrives when it arrives.
Whenever it does arrive, I hope there is a song that resonates with lots of people. A big hit can come out of the blue. I read an article recently about Luis Fonsi (Despacito). "After a nearly two-decade career spanning eight studio albums and a soon-to-be-released ninth album, the Puerto Rican superstar says it's nice to get some acknowledgement from the American audiences he grew up with." That is my wish for Adam!

I was thinking what I'd like to see from Adam the most and I realized that for my selfish self I NEED to hear him SINGING LIVE.. knowing that we have about 35!!! 2 hour concerts makes me really happy! QAL is a blessing! And given the current generous for us singing schedule I can easily wait till his own music reveals itself.... plus that rumor re a show in Israel makes me hopeful for Asia as well, and may be some summer 2018 festivals... I don't remember the Israel rumor....nica, what was it? I know some thought they might do Asia after OZ...while the equipment, etc was on that part of the globe. If so, shouldn't they be announcing it by now or already or soon? I'll take Adam singing live anyway I can get it...from singing on TV or at a charity event to his own music or QALs music. I just looked up how many times I've seen Adam sing live over the past 7 years and my attendance at his solo concerts outnumber his QAL shows by only 4 shows....they are almost even. I'm so grateful for every live performance.

Adam has split his digital media presence -- IG has Queen in it and his solo career info; Twitter, Facebook and his official sites are focused on "Two Fux" and his solo career (WBR) with a bit of personal color now and then; and AdamLambertFans.com is focused on Queen tour. And Snapchat is mostly personal info/fun things/fan engagement. Seems very balanced to me but overall, his solo career is not secondary to Queen.
Isn't it amazing that this is Adam's mini bio?
ADAMLAMBERT Lead singer for QUEEN, Solo Artist on Warner Bros Records, some actin gigs too! Out AF. I love my life. Snap: adamlambert adamofficial.com
He is not a "guest stand in vocalist" for Queen, he is not some indie artist struggling to find the money to record and promote his music, and he is an actor. Plus he is both "Out AF." and loves his life.
In a few years, he's come a long way. His old brief bio (not posted on IG but on general sites) was...
"Adam Lambert is an American singer best known for his finalist position in the eighth season of American Idol in 2009. His huge vocal range and glam-rocker style made him a standout. Lambert came in second place."
