Hello all my dear friends at Adamtopia,
In spite of the crisis here, I have somehow found solace in the wee hours - waking up at 3AM and logging in to Q3's creation. Our Adam home.
I am HERE.
And I'm finding so many reasons to be glad.
I have my life; some of my neighbors died trying to flee; others sought refuge in a swimming pool or a low spot, and remain hospitalized.
Sonoma County is a force! My husband went to the VA to order eyeglasses . . . he returned to our hotel with bananas, peaches, strawberries, cereal, crackers, applesauce, chobani's, soup . . . and a whole lotta love. Firefighters from as far away as Australia are here. They hope to have our "Tubbs Fire" contained by next Tuesday.
We cannot yet go to our property - our home. Even after 11 days. The grim task of discovery is still going on. This morning I took blocks of deer food to the Nat'l Guardsmen who are manning the road closure at the portal of what was the road that wended its way through oaks and vineyards to my place of peace.
Tonight there is a community meeting at the same high school where our governor and two US Senators spoke a few days ago. Resources are everywhere. Today, I needed to apply for a new passport . . . without a birth certificate. I was led by a virtual hand of kindness through the process, and I'll have this little document with me in time to head to London to see Adam and Queen in December. Yes - I'm going! And the only reason why I might leave my precious husband at such a transitional time in our lives is because dear friends (they are actually the godparents of our two youngest children) have opened their home to us; and another friend is bringing his motorhome to their property for us to use until we can put a little camper of some sort on our land as we rebuild.
I have a video for you to see.
I hope the link will work. It is very powerful. Made by Ariana Elliott; and forwarded to me by Kate Gonnella, head of Emergency Services at Burning Man. The video is public; okay to share.

This is my home. This will always be my home.
I'm in a never ending search for words. Simple words. Right words. Words that tell you all how much your concerns and your thoughts have helped me.
I am a very lucky, and a very loved momtomany. Thank you.
