Well let’s see, no recent music on the radio, no music currently on the radio, no indication of any near future music for the radio, not the crowd or event for 40year old covers.... I do wonder and worry a bit about what must go through his head when he attends these events as a spectator though. That has to be hard on the confidence and the will.
I seem to have a strong need to keep hammering on the same subject today, but yeah good point. It is not only about my selfish self who wants to see Adam more in the spotlight as a solo artist, but I also do wonder how happy he really is at those events. I believe that there is no way for him to not reflect and compare. About the "no music currently on the radio" comment...valid point of course. And now we can go back to the discussion why that is the case. Is Adam's taste too eclectic? Is he a bit stubborn? Or isn't he promoted enough and why? I believe that someone with the highest level of talent and charisma to light up a whole arena and beyond, there must be a way to the top without having to sleep your way to it. If I look at the line-up of yesterday's event I can't help making comparisons. I just discussed this with my DH ... His answer is that others had hit songs early in their careers (songs "better" than Adam's) and that now they get the benefit of the doubt. sizzling, I think your husband hit the nail on the head. Once you've had a major hit (or two), people just kind of accept your legitimacy as a "star." They are, as he said, given the benefit of the doubt. Doesn't have much to do with talent. But one problem is, if you've been hovering in the mid-level of the music biz, like Adam has, and you're fairly well-know, but not at a mega-level, your new music is less likely to get people's attention. People kind of "feel" who they like or don't like, or who they just don't care about. Adam has put out a lot of excellent, chart-worthy songs, many of them better than the chart-toppers. But if people have decide they just don't care, they won't pay attention. I realize it has to do with RADIO PLAY, also, but radio peeps have a keen sense of who is hot and whose music will be embraced. Like Adam said, the music business is fucked up.

To me..how I feel... The ADAM LAMBERT SHOW is a continuous, amazing, and exciting roller coaster ride filled with unmatched talent that fills me with joy when I watch it play before me. Strong/uncompromised beliefs...no 'neutered' down sexiness...and a magical talent that is on a different plane than any other out there today = THE AFL SHOW!! Some in the business may try to shut doors to him but Adam opens his own doors and keeps moving forward on his own terms and what fulfills him inside. So I am feeling: Welcome to the AFL continuous SHOW And...I finally don't give Two Fux about those who try to shut doors to Adam:

Adams a cross over star. He is prob too old for the pop game. Although alot of the hits on the radio are by over 30's. So guess it is just right song, and right timing per usual for Adam. But Adam is a world wide star. He is may not be as "big" in the States. But internationally he is a big star. Particularly in Asia. So you know last big song went Top 20 on US Pop Radio GT. Probably unlucky not to pick up a Grammy nod. Lead Singer of the best rock n roll band of all time Queen. So you know. Alot of artists out their would kill for Adams success. I do see Adam crossing over into more TV and movies. That seems his selling point to me. Kinda like Elvis did.

Adam does not have any current music on the radio because he and his label have not released any. Earlier he seemed to plan to but things changed. Maybe the changes at the label or the many stars who are now releasing and this is not the best time with him going overseas soon. I think his music is and always has been as good or better than many on the radio in the US. But the support has not been equal. I was reading some comments from some Kelly Clarkson fans and they were giddy about how the gay community always supports her music and career and they are all over her current single according to them. I also read that Harry Styles was submitting his Grammy submissions in the rock category and was not going to play the pop game (good for him tho he still gets top 40 play anyway). Because that field will be jammed packed with Demi and several One Direction guys getting #1's. Then you have Bruno, Pink, Puth, Taylor, Mendes, Sheeran, Sam, Kesha and Kelly. Whatever chances Adam has or will have in the future he has to put something out there for radio. No age discrimination cause Pink is 38 and Kelly is the same age as Adam. Levine is older and so are a few others. I believe he will release when it works for him. US radio has always had their favorites. But right now, it is the Queen tour and that is a good thing cause an album or even single release right now may not be the best timing. And touring with Queen is a winner on so many levels until the timing is good for his solo efforts. I am just happy that he seems to enjoy his life and is happy and it is not dependent on other people (or wishes and fantasies of others) but for himself.

As for Adam letting us know about the struggles in the industry... I think he's very open about it...if he detailed every incident the second it happened no one would work with him
Another thing to the success...what Adam really wants professionelly remains uncertain but having watched what seems all interviews available on YouTube...from the impression I got...Adam seemed most at peace, just deeply content, there was something about him during that time when he was with Sauli...not to say that he isn't happy now...does anyone feel similar, or am I totally off? ...would love to hear other thoughts on this...

We can only make assumptions based on observations but yeah, Adam seemed genuinely happy and giddy back then. And I believe that he modified the overall vibe of TP because of the relationship. Adam and Sauli still seem to have a very special bond. Despite all rationale, I want the fairytale ending haha.

www.glaad.org/blog/photos-hailee-steinfeld-courtney-love-carly-rae-jepson-troye-sivan-and-more-join-justin-tranterPHOTOS: Hailee Steinfeld, Courtney Love, Carly Rae Jepson, Troye Sivan, and more join Justin Tranter for "Believer" #SpiritDay concert Last night, GLAAD Board Member Justin Tranter helped kick off Spirit Day with 'Believer,' an intimate concert at The Sayers Club in Los Angeles. Justin Tranter helps amplify the voices of many in the music industry, but he also uses his own voice to help LGBTQ youth everywhere. Justin is not only a talented singer and songwriter behind hits including 'Sorry,' 'Cake By The Ocean,' 'Issues,' and 'Hands to Myself,' but he is a true change maker. Last night was the start of the next chapter in GLAAD's teamwork with Justin to open the music industry even wider to LGBTQ artists and to bring music artists to LGBTQ youth. GLAAD would like to thank Justin for everything he has done for GLAAD, LGBTQ youth, and everyone in the room that night! There were many great and surprising moments that happened at 'Believer.' There were performances from Hailee Steinfeld, JoJo, Parson James, and Adam Lambert. Justin also sang with the supremely talented Trans Chorus of LA. Courtney Love surprised the crowd by dueting with Justin Tranter on the hit song he wrote for Selena Gomez' "Hands to Myself." Other notable guests in attendance included Carly Rae Jepsen, Superfruit (Scott Hoying and Mitch Grassi), Laura Marano, Chris Colfer, Betty Who, Gigi Gorgeous, Austin Getty, Brian J. Crum, Tinashe, and Sofia Carson. Hailee Steinfeld, Darren Criss, Troye Sivan, 5 Seconds of Summer, and Sofia Carson each made donations to GLAAD’s Spirit Day campaign. Special thanks to our friends at CAA, Warner – Chappell, Interscope and Ari Getty for supporting this beautiful event!
