metislight Love your recap! The longer the better! Since I live in the U.S., I especially enjoy hearing what it is like for fans in other places. You have quite an interesting musical background. Nice to read all the details. Yep, Adam is my Elvis, the only other singer I ever went gaga over. I was 15 at the time he was breaking and I went totally crazy, enthralled? haha. My friends for decades know how I loved Elvis and even up until about 8 yrs ago, bought me Elvis stuff. I told them, stop! I love a new Elvis and his name is Adam Lambert. And he is alive!
I found myself spreading the QAL word today. I bought 2 flatscreen TV's (my first) and a young guy from the store installed them today in my condo. I got a Smart TV so I could watch YT videos on my TV. I was telling the guy I watch Queen and Adam Lambert concert videos. He said, the old Queen? I said, Yes, with Adam. He didn't know who he was and I said he has been singing with them for 6 yrs all over the world. He was amazed. I bet he checks them out. It has been a good day!

“It was like somebody turned on the “HD/sound-surround/3-d sound”, pressed some magical button somewhere and his voice vibrated through my whole being” Yes yes YES!! I think we have all experienced this!! ❤️❤️❤️ Loved your stories, metislight! Adam recaps are NEVER too long! I love your story, Metislight and I just wanted to re-quote what pattihum said about your recap because I feel exactly the same way. I'm one of the older Atopers on this site, but I so remember the first time I heard and saw Adam live on New Year's Eve 2009-2010. And yes, his voice "vibrated through my whole being". At the time I thought that if I only get to see and hear him live this one time, I will always have this to treasure. Your recap brought back a special memory for me.

The review I promised: OOR @oor Adam Lambert houdt Queen fit, zo zagen we gisteren in de Ziggo Dome. Lees hier ons hele verslag! oor.nl/concerten/adam-lambert-houdt-queen-fit/ … Google translate: translate.google.nl/translate?sl=nl&tl=en&js=y&prev=_t&hl=nl&ie=UTF-8&u=https%3A%2F%2Foor.nl%2Fconcerten%2Fadam-lambert-houdt-queen-fit%2F&edit-text=I've edited it here and there. There were a lot of Dutch sayings in the text that didn't get translated well.ADAM LAMBERT KEEPS QUEEN FIT'No bicycle bells allowed,' read witty signs on the outer doors of the Ziggo Dome. "I should have taken my vacuum cleaner," grinned a gray man when he got the bad news. You already guessed: Queen is back in the country. The legendary rock band got a new life a few years ago when old members Roger Taylor and Brian May met the young Adam Lambert. This former pop star to start became second at American Idol, then did not achieve much with his own work, but found on invitation of May and Taylor his second calling as second coming of Freddie Mercury. Like Queens eternal singer, Lambert has a far-reaching falset, a flamboyant look and a great love for showbiz and the like. Queen + Adam Lambert was born. During a first show in the Ziggo Dome, we already saw how the youthful energy of Lambert made Queen worth the effort again. That was almost three years ago when cooperation was more or less in its infant shoes. In the meanwhile, the company has stirred the world and visited a great deal of arenas. Piece of cake for Taylor and May, who will be able to clap and mow again as they always did. For Lambert, however, it was all new. The singer has a lot of experience and could gradually grow in his role as Queens new frontman. And you see that. During his second show in the Ziggo Dome, Lambert makes a much stronger impression than before. He is no longer the guest who can sip into Mercury's impossible big shoes. No, Lambert is really the boss now. This is his band, this is his show. After all, it is not Queen, damn it! It's Queen plus Adam Lambert! The pop star has actually hijacked the classic material of the band. He does not bring the songs anymore like Mercury would have done, but in his own way. And sometimes, as with Bohemian Rhapsody, he really looks like Mercury, to the great pleasure of the many fans who still adore Queen as if it were their mother. But on many other moments, like during a fierce Stone Cold Crazy, Lambert is just himself. Just a little harder than Freddie was. Vocal less strong, but more powerful in his image speech. The character of Lambert makes this Queen more than just a gorgeous tribute band. The material is known, but the performance and performance are not. The emphasis is also (probably why) more than before on playing music than on emotional talks about the past. Fewer images of Freddie, more action by Adam. Of course, Queen and Lambert still do enough to plead the old fanbase. However, this is mainly in the song selection. From Somebody To Love to We Will Rock You and from Your Tie Your Mother Down to Under Pressure: Every hit is kicked off. In the setlist, this show is almost the same as the 2015 concert. This means that a concert of Queen + Adam Lambert is also a show that you tend to check the box. Once seen beautiful, but you know it right now? That this is not the case may be a surprise. In 2017 going to Queen means seeing the development of Adam Lambert. He gets this fossilized band moving again. He makes it tough and exciting again. You are almost curious about what the future on Queen-level will bring us.

That was a great review skaschep. Love badass rockstar Adam. I'll take that over the pop girls/boys with their twenty dancers and little singing any time any day. Of course, who can compete with Queen and Adam as frontman? But Adam can and does deliver with a powerful voice and stage presence that few have. Only wish is that more could see him in action.

This is the review Patti quoted out: Lust For Life @lflmagazine Het publiek in de uitverkochte @ziggodome zag Queen + Adam Lambert gisteravond zowel ontroerend klein als overweldigend groots. Lees hier ons verslag! lflmagazine.nl/concertrecensies/queen-adam-lambert-in-de-ziggo-dome-2017 … lflmagazine.nl/wp-content/uploads/Queen-Adam-Lambert-Ziggo-Dome-Amsterdam-13112017-Kim-Balster_KBF0650.jpgGoogle translate: translate.google.nl/translate?sl=nl&tl=en&js=y&prev=_t&hl=nl&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%2F%2Flflmagazine.nl%2Fconcertrecensies%2Fqueen-adam-lambert-in-de-ziggo-dome-2017&edit-text=Also edited slightly to make up for some loose translations. Queen + Adam Lambert in the Ziggo DomeQueen has been longer active in 2017 without Freddie Mercury than with. Pop singer Adam Lambert proved earlier already to be an appropriate addition to the remaining members, although the young American at first glance looks a little crazy next to Brian May and Roger Taylor's very white hair. Can the typical collaboration be convincing tonight? After Paul Rodgers, it has been American Idol finalist Adam Lambert who since 2012 completed Queen, nowadays composed of guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor. In January 2015, they already played a sold-out Ziggo Dome, and this time they give a new show for an equally filled room, in which Lambert once again appears to be a flamboyant frontman. What you would expect from the neighbors in the Arena (soccer stadium) has moved to a full Ziggo Dome. Impatient sounds and whistles for the band that kept people waiting for twenty minutes. At the intro sounds of We Will Rock You, the men are forgiven immediately. Rock classics like Hammer To Fall and Tie Your Mother Down make clear that there is still juice in Queen. Fat Bottomed Girls, Killer Queen, Do not Stop Me Now and Bicycle Race follow, which show a Lambert that is in his element on the big stage and in this big company. Not only is he an extremely strong vocalist, his humor and interaction with May and Taylor, and the hall melts hearts. Vocal limitations seem unknown by Lambert. Sometimes it's very slick, just like his outfits. It shines and glitters, while the singer parades over the stage - like a thick wink to Queen's heyday. Especially Killer Queen shows Lambert in top form. Between the vocal capriols, he knows with an incredible dose of charisma stories to tell. Lambert is not Freddie Mercury, and that makes he clear as well. 'No shit!' With this he takes away the last doubt and it becomes clear why 17,000 people are gathered here. In honor of Freddie and Queen's music. Moving small Lambert understands exactly when he can make the spotlight one's own and when another is due to this place. For example, Brian May knows how to stir tears with Love Of My Life, although it is good to hear that he has spent quite a few years. Still, it is Freddie who sends an "ohh" through the public through archive images. Unexpectedly beautiful is especially Under Pressure, now a moving little duet between Taylor and Lambert. The spotlight focuses entirely on Taylor when he also takes A Kind Of Magic for his vocal account, leaving the drum set behind. A huge disco ball can not be missed for I Want To Break Free, after which Lambert's own work also passes the revue - for many, surprisingly, not unknown. A great deal of use is made of all the resources that the grand hall offers: grand lights, smoke machines, floating stage and full screen graphics of the starry sky, album covers and video clips. Almost no hit remains unplayed and after Bohemian Rhapsody it is obviously not over. Freddie Mercury himself plays the vocal game of Wembley '86 with us, after which We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions as expected end the evening. New life Queen + Adam Lambert is more than a nostalgic trip: it's blowing new life into an inheritance that has long lost its strength. The Ziggo Dome saw Queen tremendously small and overwhelmingly big, with a lot of spectacle and at other times just subtle and cliché, with lighters in the sky. People enjoyed the music that is still one of its kind after almost half a century. Freddie's legacy continues in this reincarnation of Queen, with the passionate frontman Adam Lambert.
