THIS is exactly what I thought and I did have the feeling that the people around me felt the same during Adam’s speech in Wembley. I don’t know, how to describe it, but instead of cheering his words people were a bit grumbling and you could feel it: „Adam we are completely fine with you and you are a star all by yourself! No need to put yourself down.“ (And since I sat rather in the back of the hall, this was not only from the diehard glamberts. It was the majority!) As I said before, the cheers for Adam were louder than for Freddie - and that was really different from the other concerts I witnessed! And I loved every second of his absolutely thunderous applause. It felt so great! I hope his speech will evolve and next tour it’ll be less self deprecating. Similar to the evolution of dr Bri’s intro of Adam .....

Hasn't it already evolved?...in a way... from what he said on the US leg to the EU leg...he keeps it shorter, simply addressing that there is someone else up there than the iconic front man Freddie Mercury and just letting people know he respects and loves the band and is a fan himself...

I think that Wembley was the most outrageous, vocally, so that is my vote. Thanks so much for doing this!

Hasn't it already evolved?...in a way... from what he said on the US leg to the EU leg...he keeps it shorter, simply addressing that there is someone else up there than the iconic front man Freddie Mercury and just letting people know he respects and loves the band and is a fan himself... I don't think it is self-deprecating. He states that many in the audience are thinking "He's not Freddie." That is true. He says there will only ever be one Freddie Mercury. That is also true. As is the fact that Adam is a fan. None of that is a put down of Adam. To me, his statements are basically saying, in a non-confrontive way, "Stop comparing me to Freddie. Stop yearning for a past of 26 years ago. It is not disrespectful to Freddie to perform Queen's music. (And, remember that there are two other members of Queen who are still playing their hearts out for you.) I am here, now, to entertain you. Let's all have fun and enjoy this moment in time." From the audience and critics' reaction to his speech, it seems to strike just the right chord, giving them permission to fully rock out and move on. I AM glad they changed the ending of Bo Rhap. Seeing Freddie singing with Adam was touching, but it ends the show looking back at Freddie longingly, instead of celebrating how his music and genius as a composer live on in new and compelling performances.
