When did he leave Warner/Chappell? I was thinking of the other publishing company that he was with for years. The name escapes me. I know one publication said he was with Warner/Chappell but didn't think we saw anything official. He is still not listed on their writers page. David Cook is there and there was a big announcement/press release when he was signed to his publishing deal. Hope Adam is with them tho. Kobalt is his prior publisher. He left them, if I recall correctly, about the same time as he changed labels. Maybe some type of wrap around recording/publishing deal as he is not a prolific writer. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm always a little nervous when he changes publisher/management/label or whatever. I always wonder what the reason is. I know Adam isn't a platinum level star all the time, and I think he is well-liked and has made good money off his own music. But it's all about profits for these "management" types entities that these artists have to deal with. I that whoever he winds up dealing with for the advancement of his career will promote him well and keep him busy making profitable music. How great it would be if he could break into an acting role (JCS?) that would open more doors for him beyond selling albums. JHud seems to have made that leap due to a her breakthrough role in Dream Girls. That one role was her catapult beyond just recording music. I would love to see Adam get that chance, too.

It's the only reason I can think off why they let him out. His single was #1 and his album was too. Haven't checked out the other nominees accomplishments though. I really have no clue about how to compare England and America on liberal thoughts, but England is still way more conservative that the Netherlands. That I know for sure. He has started to fall a bit on YouTube sales too. He said he feels as much of a woman as a man.. I thought oh no here we go. On u.s. Youtube#1 song fell to 27 #1album fell to 37. There is a lot of competition ,still very different than first album which was #1 for over a year I believe. Maybe a coincidence..I hope It has nothing to do with his honesty Maybe it is simply that he earned his nickname of Same Smith with this album. 😉 His music is pretty whiny, down in the dumps, not really much fun to listen to over and over. And realistically, in the US his positioning himself so gender fluid is a big risk right now.

I think people bought the album etc because it was Sam Smith...but upon really listening to the music/singing...well ...just as I have highlighted above.

I guess this is all off topic, but I want to chime in anyhow that it bugs the heck out of me that SS's music is on at least two commercials that I've seen really frequently during football games. I sure hope Adam gets a song placed in a commercial at some point. Yes, he had the Oreo gig, but it wasn't his song, hardly sounded like him, and was put on all that much at least when I watch TV.

About the DMG change, In general, I think change is good. New eyes, creative sparks. Ultimately, I think Adam knows what he's doing. Not worried about anything. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

Also don't know how prolific a writer Adam needs to be for a publishing deal but Lauren Alina is signed with W/C and she had one co-writing credit on her first album but co-writes on all for her second album. Cook has several more co-writes than Adam has on his first album but about he same on the others. Cook has no co-written hits. Chances are good tho that Adam has a deal with someone.

I'm hoping for an Olympic song like "Home". If he gets JCS wouldn't NBC like to plug songs by one of their live stars?

From what I recall DMG also have Katy Perry on their roster. But be good for Adam from a creative stance. Adam always says how he does not like too keep things the same for too long. Which is prob why I follow a Lambert over a Smith. I find Adam far more exciting and unpredictable.

"Champions" will also be played at the Olympics. It is #1 right now on Itunes. ETA: Also think change is good for Adam.
