I think it is perfectly okay to wonder... even though we may know the answer(s). I think it is entirely possible that Adam HAS been asked. And declined. He is not into sports at all. He sang the national anthem for a sporting event way back when he was in high school in San Diego. "Been there, done that. Not interested" perhaps? Cassie, I think you may be right about the National Anthem and I also think that Adam would not say yes to a NA at a regular game. He already sang the NA at a Chargers game when he was in high school. Since he's not from a "sport's city" it is also is a limitation. If he was from a city that got in the World Series, he might have been asked. Padres have not been in the playoffs for over a decade. Chargers also have not done much and now they are in LA. ** Not to Cassie but to the upthread comment about Troye and SNL.... Troye 4.5 million YouTube subscribers, almost 8 million Twitter followers, etc. That's a big fan base. "My My My" is not much of a song and I thought his performance was laughable but I am sure he was good for ratings. He's making the big radio show rounds to push him in the US. He may do OK but he's no Shawn Mendez.

Yes, I have posted lists of "old" artists with pop hits many, many times. Mainstream Top 40 radio (AKA Pop Radio) PDs don't care how old the artist is, they care how old the audience is -- they want 18-35 year olds. Some markets go older, Youngstown, OH has a pop station that targets people 18-49. Some go younger, LA has a pop station that targets 15-29. I have no idea what Adam is up to but most of the artists on pop radio are either established pop hit makers like Pink or they have a home genre (Country, Alt Rock, R&B, Rhythmic, Dance, etc.) and cross over to Pop with a genre hit. IMVHO Adam's real challenge is he has no genre home because that would make it easier to get radio airplay. >> HAC and AC are audience-based formats not genres. Finally, I honest don't care about radio. I want him to have a massive streaming hit and sales which = royalties and a tour. And in 2018, a big Spotify hit and/or a big YouTube video beats radio. Big Spotify and YouTube hits move to radio, see Camilla Cabello’s HAVANA. It was soft released to streaming along with another song in very early August as test promos. Havana took off like wildfire, in September it was released to radio. And, as they sat, the rest is history. HAVANA has such a kick-ass video, and a very catchy tune, that it got tons of views. Plus it is a great song for Latin dancing. I don't like her new single near as much.

I don't understand why people say their are certain rules set for Adam. Like he has to jump through hoops no other artist has too. Or he is blacklisted on Radio. None of that is true. Ghost Town was a top 20 Pop Hit on Radio. Adam may have been asked in the past, but he may have declined. Sure their are tons of older artists getting hits on the radio. But It's all about the music. But in general the Radio PDS target a younger audience. Adams probably too old. Be smart for him to shift to a more alternate sound. Adam is kinda homeless on Radio. He has no real genre or format. That said though I don't think Radio is that important anymore. Adam getting a streaming hit on Spotify or YouTube seems preferable. And I don't think he won't get JCS. Because of him never doing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl. Lol! My comment about so many rules for Adam was about fans setting the rules that only seem to apply to him. He is to old, gay, unsafe, not big enough or whatever the reason we think he is not getting something. If he still wants radio play, hopefully he will get it even with a more alternative sound. In the US, some can still get top 40 play without being so popish. Streaming is a great goal and asset but those with the most exposure, sales and bigger tours get radio play also in the US. That may change but it has not changed yet and we all know that it works along with radio. He doesn't get massive radio play here but not going to pretend to be okay if he is shunned by radio completely. Tho in the end, it probably does not matter what we want or think. It matters more to me what Adam wants. But what is going to happen will or won't.

I must have somehow landed on the wrong thread today. The guy that I am a fan of, he is the lead singer of Queen, is getting ready to do the third leg of an ongoing world tour, has a few other irons in the fire, one of which is rumored to be the lead in an upcoming TV rock musical, he was just yesterday mentioned in the same sentence as Nancy Pelosi in the news, no explanation needed who he was in the article, it was rightfully assumed that the reader already knew. He is also filthy rich, is presently recording an album on a major label, sits in front rows at fashion shows, gets news coverage at such events, sometimes around the globe, and has been wearing some seriously sick outfits recently. That is the guy, I am a fan of. Now who are you guys talking about? Some 36 year old has been, who is compared to KA, nobody likes him because of some amas, nobody plays him, and he is just hopelessly sobbing into his morning coffee....really? I mean, I think you guys normally are under-estimating KA a bit here, he almost sold out Wilkes-Barre here last month, yes, that Wilkes-Barre. So the guy does have some kind of a career, more than people here probably know, but seriously, comparisons to Adam are absurd. KA has none of the stuff I mentioned above. None. No Queen, no Ru Paul, no JCS (maybe), no major label album, no fashion shows, no name recognition, nothing of all that. And yet he is not whining into his coffee either. So, could you please reroute me back to where I belong, pretty, pretty please...I am searching for that Adam Lambert forum..... Yes, this guy. So very much appreciated. Thank you

It's funny how fan posts of Adam's IG post get posted, but not Adam's IG post itself. Adam was out before it was cool to be out and he was even dogged by his own community for not being the right kind of gay. He's faced it all with class. Now this generation has garnered fans on mass. Adam is 35, he's not going to be able to go back and get these young kids. He just needs to go forward and be the fantastic Adam he is. He'll always have fans but it may not be the kids that listen to radio! I hope the streaming and other ways to get music these days will keep Adam in the mix. He started out strong with radio, WWFM, IIHY, so wonder what happened after that! I still listen to FYE, it's a great track and should have been pushed a lot harder to radio, and Fever, what the hell, one of his best songs never got a chance. We can go on and on but what's the point. He's happy and singing with Queen, working on music and you never know what's coming next! JCS anyone! Fingers crossed! I think that FYE never had a chance after the AMAs. That's probably why Fever was never given a shot either, sadly. The immediate release of "safe" WWFM worked!
