It's def a bachelor pad. You'd have to dig out the whole pool to install a regular swimming pool. Often times you put steps to the basement under the existing steps to the second level. With this being a spiral...w/o seeing the house plans, don't know if you could put skimpy stairs down from the south guest bath wall...the wall with the toilet..lol or in the main hallway under the existing steps IF you even have enough head room to do that. Then, there's the question of what's down below where the steps would land....might be the existing bathroom in the basement would be a problem. With a lower price....some bachelor/party animal or couple might come along and buy it. I suppose you could have a person or couple with a small child who could use the 2nd BR and splash in the pool. lol. Eventually, it will sell. Depends on how bad or eager Adam is to sell it and how much if any loss he might be willing to take. At least he's got sufficient money to take a loss if he has to....but nobody ever wants to have to do that.

I would also „simply“ build a staircase to the basement. But I guess, you don’t do that with such a house? It’s surely not easy, but doable. (You see, I come from a home, where we always did a lot of remodeling of our house by ourselves 😁). On the other hand: people, who work from home , could have an office down there ( or a studio). 😉 As a potential buyer You would have to evaluate where, how, at what cost as compared to other available properties that already meet your needs. As a seller, VERY hard to recover investment cost on most remodeling projects. Creating an interior staircase to the lower floor might be a sound investment IF it could be done without huge expense and without robbing too much usable existing space on the main floor.

I just read an interesting piece on praise. Since we frequently have discussions about who is "better" or "best" when it comes to singers, I thought I would bring it over. "...The worst piece of praise I’ve sometimes received after a talk is “You were the best speaker today.” What’s so bad about that? First of all, it undercuts all the other speakers. Moreover, it reminds me of the fact that in many other cases I won’t be the best speaker, so now I feel nervous and self-conscious. Instead of enhancing me, this comment unbalances me in the future.
What you’re actually doing here is comparing, not praising. You are attempting to prop people up by kicking others down. Real praise is telling someone “Your report was amazing,” or “The comedic timing of your speech was perfect,” not telling them that their report or their speech was better than another person’s. Moreover, by telling someone they are “better” or “the best,” you are placing an unconscious, implicit limit on your expectation for what they can achieve. If we’re striving only to be better than someone else, doesn’t that set our expectations for ourselves too low? It tells us that as soon as we are just a little bit better than another person, we can stop trying, even if it means stopping short of our potential.
If you want to enhance others, do not compare them. ..."ideas.ted.com/whats-the-worst-kind-of-praise-you-can-give/?utm_campaign=social&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_content=ideas-blog&utm_term=social-scienceSound advice I think most of us have evolved when it comes to praising Adam. I know I used to say his was the best voice I've ever heard, without a doubt, blah blah blah. Now I just say that I love his voice and he's damn good, which he is. I have always hated the Freddie-Adam comparisons. Both great showmen, both with great voices, but not at all alike, which is fine with me and apparently fine with Queen. What they were looking for was a great voice who was also a great entertainer and could handle the music! I'm still bat shit crazy for him though!!

I never thought of recovering the investment costs, when we remodeled our house. Simply, because we never intended to sell it. And my parents live there for almost 40 years. But I see there are a lot of houses in Adam’s neighborhood on the market. Looking at them, I can see, that selling his isn’t easy.

I also don't have any knowledge of pools, but I think "making it deeper" would probably entail completely removing what's there and starting over. Though I suppose it could be made deeper by building higher edges around it. That would be ugly... With only two bedrooms and a party yard, the house, though beautiful, really is a bachelor pad. I don't know what the other houses in the neighborhood are like. These listings are in the general neighborhood, wide mix of properties. www.rodeore.com/eng/sales/ca-usa/34.103217--118.365391-34.098331--118.373256-map/list-viewI think it's the 2 bedrooms that's killing him as much as anything, seeing those comps.

How long are houses usually on the market in Hollywood? Considering there are that many up for sale...
Edit: Besides, when Sauli posted one of his selfies from the balcony (?) on his last stay at Adam’s, I noticed a crack in the plaster behind him. Maybe some renovations would be due as well...
