Adam seems to have really loved JCS. LOL! Yeah, he is really piling on the praise. Well-deserved, IMO. Legend was the only weak link, but even he did a good job. He knows the limitations of his voice and he adjusted for it. Sometimes a well-placed falsetto can be a life-saver. He did what he had to do. He does not have a big stage voice like the others.

And, whatever the reason was that Adam didn't get (or want) the part, I'm sure he doesn't want anyone to think he feels any "sour grapes."

I didn't watch but read several reviews. It appears that none of the critics want to give any criticism to John, and if there is any it is very slight. I find that very odd. Like he's untouchable. However, seeing the same criticisms by viewers as here on TVLine tvline.com/2018/04/01/jesus-christ-superstar-live-john-legend-gethsemane-performance-nbc/ Someone said if you didn't know Gethsame, you might think it was good. I still don't know why they didn't cast someone who could handle the vocals.

I am grateful that the press or the general public did not even know he was possibly in the mix. Whatever interest or contact he had with them he kept it quiet so that is a good thing.

He wanted to be Jesus, so he was Jesus, plain and simple. Like I said, he knows his voice limitations and just worked around it as best he could.

But if he was in charge of the whole show, then why did he say he was asked to play the part? Wouldn't he have just cast himself? The wiki shows there were 8 other executive producers. Perhaps when they asked him, he said he wouldn't do it unless he was also executive producer so he could get an Emmy. Anyway, I still don't see why he was even asked. Totally wrong voice. I'll stick with Ted Neely, Steve Balsamo, and Ian Gillian versions.

Yeah, it's always about ratings as opposed for who is right for the job. We've seen it for who they choose for tributes and singing show judges. Doesn't give me much hope for Adam as he doesn't have a huge fan base.

Adam seems to have really loved JCS. Adam's praise tweets to Sara, Brandon, and John must have gotten deleted as I just checked twitter and all I see is Adam's praise for the JCS production. I think that is appropriate and probably enough haha - he may have gotten carried away a bit yesterday or may have felt the need to pimp JCS a bit. I didn't watch, so no opinion really on my part.
