I was thinking that if they had cast Jared Leto as Jesus and Adam as Judas then they would have an EXCELLENT show with a lot of great media coverage. Oh well..there loss. THATS what I'm thinking lol ...too much pretty for me to handle probably...but I just can't get that same idea out of my head... ...no disregard to the other talented artists, who worked a LOT for this production...

@lurleene Wow, I didn't know that about Carrie! I guess I'm a bit naive when it comes to these shows. lol I find it amazing how many people are pursuing music as a career and how few make it. So glad that Adam continues to shine!

Funny how we all have different preferences....Catie and Mara are a couple of my favs. I am enjoying many of their choices to date tho I have not seen any spoilers... I also think Ada/Adam is, or should be, a definite contender. The rocker is pretty good but in a historically weak genre so I would think he will make top 12 but be out by 8 or 9 at best...could be wrong. The young boy who did the broadway thing [is he the Michael you are discussing?] is good and I would think he will also make top 12. I am really enjoying the show and the judges....they seem to get along well and to have their hearts/intentions in the right place. 100% better than the Voice in my estimation, both in judging and talent. jmho..ymmv
eta...there is another female I think is really good and she is the one with her hair in two short little ponytails...sorry, cannot remember her name at all....but she is really good....I see ultimately, she and Mara battling for top spots...unless they really detonate under the stress, or someone else really improves/ups their game.

So glad that Adam continues to shine! Yep. Kelly had also be kicking around LA with some kind of recordings of demos and people trying to help her career along before she ditched them to go on Idol. That is why it was so off-putting that some were trying to act as if Adam was some pro, who had the upper hand, because he was an understudy in Wicked. He was just damned good but had tried different things to break into the business, the same as a lot of them. They were not all super green tho the show tried to say Cook was a bartender. Yep a bartender with a band and had released an indie album, lol.

For those of you not watching Idol, this is Adam Sanders aka Ada Vox...drag queen contestant...who made the top 24 and probably will be in the top 14. Adam commented with a "gem stone" emoji. (I had to look it up...wasn't sure if it was a diamond). There's also a 18 yr old married lesbian..., very pretty and talented. Idol seems to have a diverse group this year. Their main problem is low ratings and huge judge's salaries according to many reports. ($25, 12x2, and 10 Million) I think Idol is phenomenal this year - I am already hooked - and I agree that the top 24 group is very diverse and talented. Adam Sanders was a stunner in his drag performance (as Ada Vox) and the 18 year old female seems like the whole package.

I think the girl you're describing is Maddie(?) Poppe. I've really been enjoying Idol. Yes, even the judges. They do make the show about the contestants - on The Voice, the judges are the contestants. We've been DVRing both shows, and fast forward through all but the singing on The Voice, while for Idol we find ourselves watching most of it, even some of the backstorysob stories, haha. Speaking of fast forwarding, we watched JCS last night. Two hours and 20 minutes wound up being about 1 hour 35 minutes of actual show! I liked it okay, although I thought JL had kind of one expression, and I kept thinking of what Adam would have been like as Judas (that silver outfit at the end!!). Yes, sour grapes. Oh well.

I'm trying to remember which one is Michael! Is he the one that works in a bowling alley? If so, that is interesting because I thought he was totally undiscovered! Between The Voice and AI, we've seen a lot of singers recently. I think AI is going for more diamonds in the rough this time -- trying to generate the excitement of watching the contestants improve over the course of the show. bamafan not sure what I think about Catie either -- she has a good voice and an opinion (her songs) -- but is just a little too manic. Hard to know if it is somewhat contrived? It is interesting how some people can be manic and charming, while others are manic and annoying. Why is that??? Not sure about "diamonds in the rough" in general as some performers seem pretty seasoned already and knowing who they are, but they can certainly be polished more. Some of them, especially the young ones, seem almost unleashed haha. I really liked how they picked the top 24 based on real performances in front of an audience. Very clearly, the judges were looking for more than just a pretty voice and more for an understanding as an artist. I like the judges trio btw.
