For those of you not watching Idol, this is Adam Sanders aka Ada Vox...drag queen contestant...who made the top 24 and probably will be in the top 14. Adam commented with a "gem stone" emoji. (I had to look it up...wasn't sure if it was a diamond). There's also a 18 yr old married lesbian..., very pretty and talented. Idol seems to have a diverse group this year. Their main problem is low ratings and huge judge's salaries according to many reports. ($25, 12x2, and 10 Million) I think Idol is phenomenal this year - I am already hooked - and I agree that the top 24 group is very diverse and talented. Adam Sanders was a stunner in his drag performance (as Ada Vox) and the 18 year old female seems like the whole package. Hmmm. I don't watch Idol so I'm not familiar with any contestants. But I was interested in you saying that the ratings are low. Is that really true? I though it was supposed to be doing gangbusters. Getting network TV exposure is really a big deal. Interesting about the drag queen contestant and the married lesbian contestant. We have come a long way since Season 8, haven't we? To think that Adam sexuality was such a big deal back then. He certainly helped pave the way for others.

“American Idol” drew a 1.4 rating in adults 18-49 and 7.1 million viewers from 8-10 p.m. Not only is that a drop off of nearly 20% in the key demo from last Monday, but it also marks a new season low in both measures for ABC’s revival of the singing competition series. It's also running behind The View in viewers. variety.com/2018/tv/news/the-crossing-american-idol-ratings-abc-1202742291/

Saw this article yesterday. Just checked BrandonVDixon's twitter account and he's only gained 10,000 followers from 49,000to 59,000. I see he has the most YT views by a little bit over Gethsemane and Sara's song....but not huge numbers. So, I'm not sure that he will be flung into "superstar" status as a result of the Judas role, but it might open up some doors. Interesting paragraph.... www.forbes.com/sites/leeseymour/2018/04/03/why-jesus-christ-superstar-is-yet-another-step-back-for-nbcs-live-musicals/#700c5ef629b5But audiences weren't compelled - at least not any more than in years past. 9.4 million people tuned in to watch, which, when compounded with demographic ratings, is just about even with NBC's past offerings Peter Pan and Hairspray. To be fair, that's not nothing. And reviews were mostly great. It was certainly the best presentation of the material I'd ever seen. But after Hairspray's flat turnout, NBC really needed an unequivocal hit here, which they didn't get. So where did Superstar go wrong? On the surface, it had a recipe for success: smart timeslot, smart twist on the format, and international star power from John Legend, Sara Bareilles, and Alice Cooper. (Tony nominee Brandon Victor Dixon, who gave the night's best performance, was sadly sidelined in much of the marketing push. But such is the fate of Broadway vets in the presence of pop stars). This is interesting to me. I thought JCSS would blow the roof off in every way possible and also launch Brandon into instant superstardom. But I guess even this show, that I thought was excellent BTW, didn't have that power. Nice that Brandon got a boost, though. He's a stage veteran but not a household name. The man nailed that part so well. I keep visualizing Adam doing the role. Brandon definitely has acting chops and has more stage experience than Adam. And he had a Tony nom, too. I just keep hoping Adam will get that "perfect" role that takes him over and beyond the album/touring world. Not that I want him to stop doing that. Far from it. But you know what I mean.

Interesting that someone here thought that a Jared Leto/Adam Lambert pairing as Jesus and Judas would have been interesting. I agree! Unlike Legend, Leto has a real raw edge to his persona. He and Adam would have played off each other very well, IMO.

LOL I just assumed Idol Redux would be a huge hit and just stay right up there. But the first version was cancelled for a reason: lack of interest. I know people still enjoy AI, but it looks like lots of people (me included) are just "singing show'd out." I just don't have the energy to get emotionally involved. And to me, that's what the show is about. Getting emotionally attached to a contestant and strongly supporting them during and after the show. I did that with Adam and it's quite enough for me. Viewers love to watch and rave about their favorites and then vote for them, but too often, when it comes to actually supporting their favorite AFTER the show is over (winner or not) many viewers do not do so. They just sort of drift away and forget about it all. That's why so many of the winners in the last few years of Original Idol were just left floundering, not getting good record deals or support from the show, etc. For the contestants' sake, I hope the show gives them what they signed up for. But I am interested that the ratings are not sustaining very well. But not surprised.

That video was fun. My middle daughter's husband is on a mostly vegetarian diet for cholesterol. They have chicken once a week, but that's it. (And no dairy) My three year granddaughter was going through her shopping list of spinach, tofu, carrots and avocado that she would buy with her Easter dollar. But daughter is always looking for cooking ideas, and I sent her this.

I've never heard of any of the ingredients Adam used except for cilantro and the pumpkin seeds. Doubt I could find those ingredients around here....lol.
btw.....is it OK to have cheese when vegan? or is this some concoction that looks like cheese? never heard of the fruit, will have to google hicima...sp....lol.
ETA: I see it's jicama....a Mexican yam./turnip.
Did Adam actually heat/cook the ingredients? lol. you can tell I'm not into cooking.
