Interesting.....the first comment on Adam's ACIGC Youtube is from 2 years ago and from Mara Justine....who was just 13 at the time. She's now in the top group of finalists on Idol this year.

More clues to prepare ourselves for something different? ADAM LAMBERT @adamlambert @americanidol Finale memories! 9 years ago..... youtu.be/RKNIoGbP4LoI’m totally tired of the old and way more than ready for some new music but DAMN! SANG man, SANG! I think we have all moved past Adam on Idol, even though it is fun for me to bring back those memories once in a while. I see Adam posting this Idol video as a hint that something Idol related may be up. I am getting good vibes from him.

Nick Fradiani @nickfradiani Wow I’ve never seen that performance. He’s too good. ☠️ So nice to see some high praise from a more recent AI alum. If anyone EVER doubts that Adam was the pinnacle of all AI contestants, they are deluding themselves. These incredible videos speak volumes.

Adam is looking really good in that plaid shirt and his hair down...WOW, those videos of the hole party singing...must have been some feeling being in the crowd...just seeing it felt kind of powerful...
Just a little FYI for those of us who are interested in those kind of things: There was an article on Spotify in our newspaper today. They said that artists get .6-.8 cents per stream. In a little more seizable numbers: some 10.000 streams amount to 80€. From which the artist hast to pay label and management. They mentioned that Taylor Swift signed a direct deal with The head of Spotify and predicted, that the goal of Spotify was to make Labels unnecessary.
The more I learn about this industry the more I'm convinced I'd go the indie road were I to pursue music as a career. I know the label finances albums and tours and such BUT: it is NOT a charity. In direkt or indirekt ways you have to pay the label for all it does for you. Your music has to "feed/pay" more (often highly payed) people. I know some of the coolest gigs are only filled with signed artists but I think this will start to crumble. More and more indie artists are gaining wide spread attention and if the industry doesn't want to loose audience and start circling around itself, with itself being it's own best customer it has to. My guess/observation of course. I just think if the entertainment business doesn't want award shows like the Grammys or the Golden Gobes/Acadamy Awards to become some kind of industry party they will have to. My prediction.
If you look at the film talked about on here Call me by our name: It was a small low budged indie production. At one point only few weeks prior to shooting they called Timothy Chalamet, who was already in Italy preparing for the role, and told him that they didn't know if the movie was actually going to happen and that he was free to leave and go home. Timothy thanked talk show hosts for having him on and thanked that main stream media was even covering this indie film.

Timothy thanked talk show hosts for having him on and thanked that main stream media was even covering this indie film. I would not judge anything by what Taylor Swift does or gets. She is in a different position than most artists. I don't think being indie is something most major label artists are seeking. The idols who, lost their major label deals, don't spend a lot of money but they are also making less money playing club gigs for the most part. No US or international radio play. No world tours. No world name recognition. No Forbes list of highest earning Idols. Not many high-profile gigs like judging other reality shows or endorsement deals. No label support or promotion. No major management teams seeking to take them on. They are indie because those are the only options they have and not because they think it is the best thing for them.

More clues to prepare ourselves for something different? ADAM LAMBERT @adamlambert @americanidol Finale memories! 9 years ago..... youtu.be/RKNIoGbP4LoThat is still by far the best vocal performance in the shows history. Their have been som gr8 vocalists on that show. Clarkson, Glover, Reinhart, Sanchez e.t.c. But this performance is still among my fav from this show. It was surprising too. He really took it too church. The season really became a social refrendum on social issues. "Guy next door v the Guyliner". What Adam did was really genius. Combined with the arrangement. Was he just brought it right back to his voice. Like Kara said, he is an incredible strategist. Shows all his range, then shows the emotion in the song. So yes most Adam fans want new music. But its great to look back at his journey. I am assuming either/or means an idol apperence. Or get prepared. Adam did say he is doing more soul. I always wanted Adam to go in a more pop/contemporary soul direction. So I well b interested in what comes next.
