Not sure any format will die out. Vinyls were proclaimed dead and now they're seeing new appreciation...even cassette is apparently back in the coming... streaming is just really inconvenient the way I consume music. I just like my live performances and those simply aren't on spotify. As I've said when two fux came out: I'm only learning about the importance of streaming and I'll surely help out. I also want to share more on social media, when Adam finally releases new music... I agree! I don't think CDs will die out or that radio will go away.

With Spotify you aren't dependent on your internet connection though. You can stream offline too. When you go back online your streams are added to Adam's tally. Buying the CD gives Adam more money yes, but that is only once. After you bought it you won't give him any extra while listening to it. When you use streaming services he get's money for every stream you do. Yes that isn't much, but it adds up. Listening to your CD will give him nothing. There will be a time when they don't sell any CD's anymore. My car doesn't have a CD player so I listen to my MP3's in the car, but a lot of newer cars can connect to streaming services through your phone already. I'm not judging you or anything. Just informing that a new way of consuming music is happening now already. I have colleagues who never bought a CD in their life. The younger people are streaming their asses off and if we want Adam to have a huge success with his music we must do something with streaming. And yes also buy that CD! As long as those are there. Doing both will give him the most benefits. This 'streaming' taking over is a little depressing to me because I feel the vinyl album art work and even CD artwork will become a lost art. I always loved studying the art on the albums covers I bought because they gave me a first impression/insight/mood feeling for the album. It made listening to the album even more interesting for me. I'm waiting for a streaming service that has a 3-D holographic app that will project a life-like image of Adam singing to me. Is that too much to ask?

I buy cds or burn to cds for the car, but they don't hold up very well to traveling. Sigh. But I commute an hour each direction, at the least, so streaming and using up data doesn't seem very practical. Sure, I can stream when I'm on wifi.

Bullfan, I know it is wishful thinking on my part. But why do fans think Adam always has to be so big to get these opportunities? A lot of these people gained a lot of exposure by appearing on SNL. Troye is not big. Weeknd nor Sam nor Frank nor Hosier nor Lana were big when the got a shot. They had something to promote and it paid off well for them. I wish I knew who made these rules and why they always seem to apply to Adam, lol. But either way, I will be happy with any opportunities that come his way. With SNL it is not about being big, more about being "cool." Unless you are Kelly C., people off American singing shows are not really what they look for. SNL likes the new acts--and indy, alternative. Troye, Hosier and Lana. etc. are right in the SNL niche. I wanted to see Adam on the show, and I think he was close right after Idol ended and he was really too hot to be denied. But, I don't think they have had any interest in him in years. In retrospect, I kind of wish Adam had done SNL when he was approached by them right after Idol. He claimed he turned it down because they just him to do gay-related stuff. He didn't want to do that, and I respect him for his decision. BUT, it is a real feather in someone's cap to host SNL. He would have had that on his resume forever. But that's water under the bridge. SNL does tend to go for the more indie type music acts at time. And the guest hosts are usually are usually those who are really hot at that moment, with a hit movie or TV show or album, etc. Who knows? Adam may get his shot yet!

My iPad is left on, streaming my playlist, 24/7. I keep my earbuds plugged in to keep it silent.

My new car does not have a CD player. I was sad. It only let's you listen to music through your phone or you have to put your music on a USB stick. I found it much easier before to simply switch between the CD player and the radio -- it only required pressing one button. Now I have to deal with a fancy screen and all sorts of options that I always screw up. Talk about distracted driving! So now I either play the radio or play the music stick. I did put all my CDs on the stick, so I am listening to a lot of music I haven't heard in a while!

Adam never said they wanted him to host. It was way too early in his career for that. He indicated that he did not want to participate in some demeaning skit and who could blame him for that? When Sam was first on (and the second time) he just sang and did not host or participate in a skit. The same with Troye and Frank Ocean who performed only but I guess they were not expected to make fun of themselves or their community as a condition to perform. But I agree, he may get a shot to perform, tho, not expecting him to host. Who really knows?

@carolambs: www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ljb_JsvUEc Who has NOT seen @adamlambert perform Whole Lotta Love at Fantasy Springs 1. You will need a gold shower and a cigarette after this.
